She was born on September 3, 1980, in La Mirada, California, USA, as Jennie Lynn Finch.

Jennie is the youngest of Bev and Doug Finch’s three children.

Her parents signed her up for her first t-ball league at age 5. ”I’ve been playing the game since I was five years old, so my whole life has sort of revolved around the sport,” she said in a 2010 interview.

In 1998, she graduated from La Mirada High School. Finch was the captain of the softball team in her senior season.

At age 12, Finch led the California Cruisers to the 12-and-under American Softball Association national title in Chattanooga.

She won the 2001 Women’s College World Series. Later, Jennie earned the Honda Award as the nation’s best softball player.

On May 9, 2003, her jersey number, 27, was retired by the University of Arizona in a pre-game ceremony at Hillenbrand Stadium.

In 2004, she helped lead Team USA to the gold medal at the Summer Olympics.

Also in 2004, People magazine named Jennie one of its “50 Most Beautiful People.”

In 2005, Finch was named NPF’s Co-Pitcher of the Year.

In 2008, she appeared in the infomercial for Jane’s “Natural Advantage” anti-aging system. In the same year, she was featured as a contestant on The Celebrity Apprentice. Donald Trump fired Finch in the 4th week of the season.

In July 2010, Jennie retired from softball. ”The opportunities that I’d be able to enjoy and appreciate and be a part of, it’s been incredible,” she stated at the time.

In 2001, Finch co-wrote a book titled – ”Throw Like a Girl: How to Dream Big and Believe in Yourself.”

In 2016, Jennie was inducted into the ASA/USA Softball Hall of Fame. She was the guest manager of the Atlantic League’s Bridgeport Bluefish for one day (May 29, 2016).

In 2018, Finch competed in “Dancing with the Stars.” Jennie was partnered with Keo Motsepe, a South African dancer.

”My husband and I are both disciplinarians,” Jennie told Woman’s Day. She added: ”But I keep my heart open and try my hardest to do my best.” 

The two first met in 2002 while Casey was at spring training in Tucson, Arizona.
