Trivia

He was a big inspiration for Guy “DrDisRespect” Beahm and his career.

Beahm told ESPN:

“I always had him [Jaryd] on the third monitor when I worked at Sledgehammer, and he’s always a fun watch.”

In February 2020, Dr Disrespect bashed Summit1G. He said:

“[Summit]’s not built for tournaments. He’s built for slow pace, casual gameplay with commentary.”

Jaryd gave himself the name of ”Summit1g.” The “1g” part of the nickname originated from a group he used to play with called “first generation.”

When asked about what are the streaming essentials, he answered:

”First, a 144hz monitor is a must. You also need a very long table to fit a huge mouse pad and two monitors.”

He later added:

”Most importantly you need a very comfy gaming headset since it sits on my head all day. I need to feel like it’s not even there.”

In April 2018, there was a disappointing moment for his fans when he played a game of Fortnite Battle Royale with the controversial vlogger Jake Paul. Many fans revolted, with some even telling Jaryd that he lost them as fans after the stream.

Lazar wrote on Twitter:

“I’m not going to apologize for playing with the people I play with at all.”

Jaryd streamed the pre-fight conference between Conor McGregor and Floyd Mayweather Jr. (also known as “The Biggest Fight in Combat Sports History” and “The Money Fight”) that brought more fans to his channel.

McGregor’s guaranteed disclosed paycheck was $30 million, and Mayweather’s guaranteed disclosed paycheck was $100 million. The fight took place at T-Mobile Arena in Paradise, Nevada, on August 26, 2017, at the light-middleweight weight class.

Lazar was swatted (a dangerous yet popular internet trend that involves calling in a fake emergency at the home of the victim) while streaming Pokemon GO. He quoted:

“They had a guy across on the other side of the trail pointing rifles at us, and I think they had two cops at the car pointing rifles at us. It’s kind of scary.”

When he streamed Mythic’s run at ECS qualifiers in CS:GO, his viewership peaked at 90,000.

Before taking streaming seriously or streaming professionally as a full-time job, he worked as a call representative for Time Warner Cable, an American cable television company.

When asked about when did he decide to pursue live streaming full time, Lazar responded:

”When I had about 300-400 viewers on Twitch, and I hated my full-time job, so I decided to take a chance.”

Playing at the DreamHack Open for CS:GO in 2016, Lazar and his team were leading a match they had a very good shot at winning. However, he mistakenly killed himself with a Molotov cocktail. His team went on to lose the chance at the prize money from the tournament – $250,000.

Jaryd drives a black Nissan GTR (a 2-door 2+2 high-performance vehicle produced by Nissan) that currently retails for $99,990.
