What Is Cory Althoff’s Net Worth?
Cory Althoff is an American author, engineer, public speaker, and TikTok star who has a net worth of $1 million. He is also a self-taught computer scientist and programmer and shares his knowledge through digital courses he sells and books he writes.
Cory Althoff was born on October 9, 1989, in the United States.
Following his high school graduation, he enrolled at Clemson University, located in Clemson, South Carolina, and graduated with a bachelor’s degree in Political Science.
Career
While there are various areas of work one can seek with a political science degree, Althoff decided early on that he wanted to pursue an entirely different field.
According to his LinkedIn profile, in September 2014, he landed his job with eBay Inc as a software engineer.
He got the job because he had been teaching himself programming and computer science while he was in university.
This role lasted until February 2015 because he moved on to another company.
Althoff was hired as a Software Engineer with Thuuz Sports in June 2015. Once again, the role only lasted a short period.
He left in January 2016 to pursue a contract role with Nikkei Business Publications in January 2016. This was where his career as an author was kindled as he took on the role of one and wrote in the space of software engineering.
He worked there for over four years until he resigned in February 2020.
Book
During his time with Thuuz Sports, he published the highly rated book “The Self-taught Programmer: The Definitive Guide to Programming Professionally.” The book was published through Little, Brown Book Group. It received overall good ratings and sold many copies.
The book aims to teach the readers how they can learn programming on their own terms without paying for academic credentials.
And, to no surprise, aspiring programs jumped at it since it’s one of the fastest-growing fields and loads are people are trying to jump on the title wave of programming career success.
That same month, he began to author another book, but this time with the prominent publishing company, Wiley.
He was signed with Wiley for two years, and the contract came to an end in January 2022.
While he was on contract with Wiley, he published yet another book titled “The Self-Taught Computer Scientist: The Beginner’s Guide to Data Structures and Algorithms.”
In the book, Althoff explains to the readers why they don’t need a computer science degree to land a professional program career.
It is a step-by-step guide and offers the fundaments he used to go from a complete beginner to working as a software engineer at the prestigious digital e-commerce company, eBay.
By the time he’d published two successful books, his brand had ballooned, and people began to recognize him as a mentor and self-made tech-success story.
As such, he was invited to work as the brand ambassador for monday.com.
This tech company is a cloud-based platform designed to allow business users to develop their own applications and work management software.
It was created to fill a need in the market because there was a lack of efficient project management software programs. It was launched sometime in 2014 but was still relatively unknown at the time. Once it picked up steam and became a top choice for companies across the globe, it went public in June 2021.
This was a significant career choice for Althoff because it extended his brand even further.
During his time with monday.com, he worked as a developer advocate for Vonage. It’s an American Telecommunications company publicly held business cloud communications provider.
The role lasted until April 2022, at which point he accepted a Senior Vice President of Coding Programs position with The Computing Technology Industry Association (CompTIA).
YouTube
In addition to his professional career trajectory, which is nothing short of impressive, presumably why he’s become so successful, he also built a social media presence.
Althoff has a YouTube channel which he created in May 2016.
It’s a relatively small channel with just over 2k subscribers, which could be due to him not posting any content. In the last five years, he only uploaded nine videos.
He also has a TikTok account which is very successful.
His account has garnered over 260k followers, and most of the videos have well over 1 million views. TikTok is the platform to be on for anyone who’s trying to promote their business or personal brand.
Althoff uses his account to post content about his wife, and it’s really only used for entertainment purposes.
