Does Dana White own UFC?

Dana White does not own the UFC; however, he is the CEO and president of the Ultimate Fighting Championship. At one point, White used to have a 9% ownership stake in UFC.

Six different people founded the UFC in 1993, including Rorion Gracie.

In 2001, Frank and Lorenzo Fertitta bought the UFC for $2 million from Bob Meyrowitz and Semaphore Entertainment Group (SEG).

Later, the Fertitta brothers created Zuffa, LLC as the parent entity that controlled the UFC.

White received about 9% ownership.

In 2016, the Fertittas sold the Ultimate Fighting Championship to WME-IMG (now Endeavor) for $4 billion, one of the largest transactions in professional sports history.

The price paid for UFC was roughly seven times its gross revenue.

The Fertitta brothers retained a passive minority interest in the organization.

“We’re confident that the new ownership team of WME|IMG, with whom we’ve built a strong relationship over the last several years, is committed to accelerating UFC’s global growth,” Lorenzo Fertitta said in a statement.

Dana White also cashed in when he sold a large chunk of his shares to Endeavor.

He is estimated to have made $360 million from his share in the company.

In 2019, he signed a seven-year deal with Endeavor to remain president of the UFC.

In 2023, WWE and UFC officially merged in $21.4 billion deal. TKO Group Holdings, Inc. was formed from this merger.

So, Dana White still runs the UFC as President, but he’s no longer an equity owner.

UFC’s Paramount Deal

In 2025, UFC landed a $7.7 billion deal with Paramount.

“Wherever I do a deal, my goal is to build businesses, mine and theirs,” he revealed. “In the past, we helped build Spike TV, we helped build Fox Sports 1, and we helped build ESPN+. Now we’re doing the same with Paramount Skydance, and this is how we’re doing it.”

At the time of writing, Dana White has a net worth of $550 million.

I have covered everything about his net worth in this article.

In October 2022, White founded Power Slap, along with Lorenzo Fertitta and Craig Piligian, in partnership with UFC and Endeavor.

“I’ve been working on this since 2017. I saw some footage of slap fighting on social media and I was instantly hooked,” Dana WHite said. “From the first day I saw it, I felt like this could be big. I knew what needed to be done to make it a real sport, just like we did with MMA.”
