So, how much is Rhys Ifans worth?

Ifans is a Welsh actor who has appeared in many films and TV shows over the years, contributing to his significant net worth.

His big break in the industry came in 1999 when he played Hugh Grant’s hapless roommate in the rom-com Notting Hill.

He was heralded for his comedic portrayal of Spike in the movie, and it helped him land various other roles throughout his career.

Ifans reflected on Notting Hill after twenty years in a recent interview when he said:

“I guess after twenty years, one can call it a classic. It’s not often in any actor’s career that you’re in a classic, and that’s how I see Notting Hill. It’s a film that’s held with great affection internationally, and it will always have a very special place in my heart even though I was scantily clad for most of it.”

Before getting his break in the movie, Ifans played roles in various Welsh-speaking TV shows, notably the comedy show Pobol y Chyff.

He also debuted on stage at the National Theatre in London, as well as the Royal Exchange in Manchester.

Some of his most notable theatrical performances included appearances in Hamlet and A Midsummer Night’s Dream at Regent’s Park, London.

After his success in Notting Hill, Ifans played the role of an international DJ called Eye Ball Paul in Kevin and Perry Go Large.

The movie has a cult-like following in the UK, with many nineties kids resonating with some of the coming of age themes that play out in the over-the-top comedy scenes within the movie.

The early 2000s proved to be a successful period of his career, as Ifans played roles in The Replacements, The 51st State, and Vanity Fair.

He also landed the lead role as Danny Morgan in the 2003 movie Danny Deckchair.

Ifans’ unique and unassuming delivery of various roles is what stands him apart and has contributed to the various roles that he has held to date.

In 2009, Ifans was cast as Xenophillius Lovegood in Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows – Part 1. The Harry Potter series needs little introduction and was yet another feather in the cap for Ifans, who has featured in many popular British films throughout his career.

Reflecting on his role in Harry Potter, Ifans said:

“I’m really excited to be a part of it. It really feels like you’re participating in little bit of British history. It really does have that gravitas and working with the best in the business. It’s a real honour.”

Further roles that Ifans has held in feature-length films include that of Curt Connors – the villain in The Amazon Spider-Man.

He also returned to the small screen between 2016-2019, playing the role of Hector DeJean in 24 episodes of Berlin Station.

In the prequel to Game of Thrones, Ifans has been cast in the role of Otto Hightower during the first season. It’s yet another impressive credit in what has been a varied and exceptional acting career to date.
