Sydel Curry Net Worth – $4 million
What is Sydel Curry’s net worth? Who is Sydel Curry’s husband?
Introduction
Sydel Curry is known for a lot of things.
She is the sister of Golden State Warriors point guard Steph Curry.
She is the wife of Phoenix Suns player Damion Lee.
She’s a content creator, an advocate for mental health, and a vocal advocate for fertility support.
She’s also an athlete.
When basketball runs in your family—older brother Seth is also a professional NBA baller, and her father is former NBA player Dell Curry—it would make sense that 5 ft 9 in tall Sydel would follow in their footsteps, right?
Not quite.
Sydel took a leaf out of her mom’s book and played volleyball, instead.
She’s a former CAA Conference volleyball player, four-time All-Conference player, and three-time All-State player.
Sydel Curry is a woman of many talents, and here’s what we know about the high-achieving beauty with celebrity baller connections.
The Origin Story
Sydel Alicia Curry was born in Charlotte, North Carolina, on October 20, 1994.
She is the youngest child of Dell and Sonya Curry, who divorced in 2021.
Sonya was a star athlete right through high school and college, involved in track & field, volleyball, and basketball.
She and her husband, Dell, met while attending Virginia Tech.
Dell—also known as Wardell Stephen Curry—is a former Charlotte Hornets player and current television commentator.
The pair already had two sons when their little girl arrived—Stephen and Seth Curry.
Stephen is the oldest of the Curry kids and was born in 1988.
At the time of writing, Steph Curry holds the NBA all-time record for three-pointers. He is also a two-time NBA MVP and four-time NBA champion.
Seth was born in 1990 and plays for the Brooklyn Nets in 2022. Throughout his basketball career to date, he has also played for the Cleveland Cavaliers, the Phoenix Suns, and the Dallas Mavericks.
Sydel spent a lot of time traveling the US as a kid—thanks to her father’s career—but the family eventually put down permanent roots in Charlotte.
By the age of 5, Sydel was playing volleyball.
The Volleyball Years
Sydel attended Charlotte Christian School for her high school years, and this is where her volleyball really stepped up a level.
She served three years as her team’s captain and four years as a starter—leading her team to two SS Division 4 titles.
She took out four MVP titles and two Player of the Year titles.
She also earned two All-American awards in the same year—one from the NSCAA and one from Parade Magazine.
Curry may have shone as an athlete, but she was an academic, too.
While she was unwilling to go too far from home—enrolling at Elon University, North Carolina—she was willing to put in the hard work. She majored in psychology whilst still playing volleyball.
She earned more recognition, this time with a CAA Most Improved Player and a CAA record for total assists, as well as being named to the first–team All-CAA and first-team All-Southeast.
Due to an ACL injury, she did not pursue volleyball after college.
Husband – who is Sydel Curry married to?
While she was studying at Elon University, Sydel was attending a lot of basketball games.
At one of those games, an NCAA tournament in which Seth was playing, she made eye contact with a basketball player named Damion Lee.
It was 2013, and Damion would later say that he couldn’t forget her face.
While the pair ended up being introduced through mutual friends, it would take Damion another 3 years to ask Sydel out on a date.
She said yes, and the pair had four dates in a five-day period.
The following year, they got engaged.
The year after that—on September 1, 2018, they tied the knot in Sydel’s hometown of Charlotte.
Curry said in an interview for the hit show, Say Yes to the Dress, that she wasn’t nervous at all. “I’ve been waiting on this day all of my life.”
She did admit to being surprised when Damion proposed to her a year after they started dating.

Fertility & Family
The newlywed Lees were ready to start their family together straight away.
“We’ve spent a lot of time together even before. So let’s just try [to conceive].”
Within their first year of married life, the pair were able to get pregnant—but Sydel had what is termed a “chemical pregnancy.”
The former volleyball star and NBA wife’s body, as it turned out, was struggling to maintain high enough levels of progesterone.
There would be several of these heartbreaking early miscarriages for the young couple before they turned to IVF.
After two rounds in 2020 and early 2021, they had a positive result.
Damion and Sydel welcomed their little boy, Daxon Wardell-Xavier Lee, on November 26, 2021.
