He was born on July 28, 1969, in Manchester, Connecticut, as Dana Frederick White Jr., to June and Dana White Sr.
Dana and his family relocated to Las Vegas when he was in third or fourth grade.
In September 2023, he told Piers Morgan that both his parents had passed away.
“When they passed away I had almost no feelings about it to be honest with you,” he said.
In 1987, he graduated from Hermon High School.
At age 17, White started training boxing under former Golden Gloves champ Peter Welch. Dana ultimately quit boxing due to a realization that he wasn’t good enough to compete at a high level.

The Fertittas purchased it for $2 million, and Dana was immediately named president. He also received equity in the company.
