Ryan Seacrest is not yet leaving as the Wheel of Fortune host. There are some rumors and online articles that suggest Seacrest could be under pressure. However, according to The New York Times, Seacrest has a lucrative contract that takes him through the early 2030s.

In 1993, Ryan hosted the first season of ESPN’s Radical Outdoor Challenge.
He became famous by co-hosting the singing competition American Idol in 2002.
In April 2012, Seacrest inked a two-year $30 million deal to continue as host of American Idol.
In 2017, he joined Kelly Ripa as host of Live with Kelly and Ryan.

Ryan succeeded Michael Strahan. Seacrest left Live with Kelly and Ryan in 2023. He was replaced by Mark Consuelos, husband of Kelly Ripa.
Ryan Seacrest succeeded Pat Sajak as host of ‘Wheel of Fortune’
In September 2024, he became the host of Wheel of Fortune. “Wheel of Fortune” is produced by Sony Pictures Television.
Seacrest took over from longtime host Pat Sajak, who retired after 41 seasons on the show.
Pat took the helm of “Wheel of Fortune” in 1981 alongside Vanna White.
“Pat, I love the way you’ve always celebrated the contestants and made viewers at home feel at ease,” Seacrest said in a statement.“I’m truly humbled to be stepping into the footsteps of the legendary Pat Sajak.“
Ryan also signed to serve as a consulting producer for the show.

“Wheel of Fortune” averaged 7.99 million viewers during its premiere month with Seacrest at the helm. The audience was up 12% from 2023.
The 42nd season of “Wheel of Fortune” came to a close on June 6, 2025.
“He’s so easy to work with. He’s fun, he’s easy going, and he makes my job easy,” White told ABC7 after the 42nd season of Wheel of Fortune ended. “You come to work and you’re making people happy. What could be better?”

“I just wanted people to feel comfortable and continue to watch, and if we got a few more to watch along the way, then that’s a bonus round,” Ryan said in the same interview.
Celebrity Wheel of Fortune
In July 2025, ABC confirmed that Seacreast will take over hosting duties for Celebrity Wheel of Fortune, a spin-off of Wheel of Fortune.

Ryan Seacrest and White both returned for season 43 of “Wheel of Fortune,” which premiered on September 8, 2025.
