Nicholas Robin Frank Woodeson was born in Sudan on November 30, 1949, and spent his early childhood in the Middle East with his parents – Sylvia and Frank Woodeson.

His first theatrical experience was reciting poems for his family and friends at the age of six.

Woodeson returned to England to attend boarding school and began performing at prep school and Marlborough College.

Later, he attended the University of Sussex and became involved in student drama productions.

While at university, Nicholas became involved in drama and theatre productions for the British National Student Drama Festival in 1970.

Nicholas then accepted an acting job at a theatrical repertory company.

A scholarship to study at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Arts followed.

He attended from 1972 to 1974.

Nicholas has appeared in several different television shows. His first role was Brad Davis in A Rumor of War in 1980.

From 2005 to 2007, Woodeson played in the HBO/BBC TV series Rome where he portrayed the personal slave of Julius Caesar, Posca.
