“Moving to Renault has been a great experience for me,” Carlos revealed. He added: “Getting to know myself, because I only knew the Carlos of Toro Rosso.”
He moved to McLaren for the 2019 season.
“I had good feelings when I moved to McLaren,” he told Formula 1. “Those good vibes translated very quickly into results.”
The F1 star remained at McLaren alongside Norris for 2020.

From the 2021 season, he joined Scuderia Ferrari on a two-year contract.
“Joining Scuderia Ferrari was a childhood dream come true,” Sainz Jr said for Ferrari. “A great honour and a big responsibility.”
He won his first F1 win at the 2022 British Grand Prix, which was also his 150th race.
“Winning my first F1 GP, in front of this amazing crowd, is literally amazing,” the Spanish racing driver confessed.
He signed a contract extension until the end of 2024.

In the summer of 2024, Sainz signed a multi-year Williams deal “for ’25, ’26 and beyond.”
