Music Debut

Justin Joseph (aka J $tash) was an up-and-coming rapper in the music industry.

He was born in New York in September 1993 and spent most of his life in Florida.

He recalled in an interview with Crack Magazine that growing up in Florida exposed him to the influence of Lil Wayne and Young Money, stating that Wayne’s assistant was like a mentor to him.

When $tash began work on his first album, he decided to move back to New York. He believed New York would be the best place to market himself in the music industry.

After signing with Rich Forever Music in March 2016, his debut album was released one month later, in April of that same year.

J $tash went on to release three other albums; No More Distractions (2016), Relax With Me (2017), and 6ix Before 7even (2019).

At only 28 years old, J $tash had his entire life ahead of him as a rapper and entrepreneur.

The Man Behind the Music

J $tash was a self-proclaimed hustler, stating that he never once worked a conventional job growing up.

$tash resorted to selling drugs at a young age and used the knowledge he learned during that time to motivate him toward success.

Not only was $tash a rapper and musician, but he also dabbled in modeling, started a record label called Relax Rekords, and allegedly started various businesses.

Though most famous for his music, $tash saw his music as a stepping stone to further success in other aspects of his life.

Little did he know he would face an early demise because of his own actions.

New Year’s Day Murder-Suicide

In 2014, Danielle Phaeton, $tash’s former girlfriend, accused the rapper of physically assaulting her.

The rapper faced assault charges, criminal obstruction of breathing, attempted assault, menacing, and harassment charges, but the prosecution ultimately threw out these charges, and the rapper avoided imprisonment.

On January 1, 2022, California police received a disturbing call from a little boy.

The child informed the officers of the domestic dispute, and upon arrival, they noted that the young woman had several gunshot wounds and that the man had what seemed to be a self-inflicted injury.

The officers found that the children were unharmed, however, both Gallegos and $tash were dead on the scene.

Jeanette Gallegos was 27 years old when she was murdered by her partner of one year, J $tash.

Gallegos’ three children, ages 5-11, were all present in the home at the time of the shooting.

The reason behind $tash’s actions will forever remain unknown.

From a dark past of drugs and violence to becoming a celebrated artist, J $tash’s story was once an inspiration.

Yet, through his actions on January 1st, his memory is now associated with tragedy.
