He was born in Galveston, Texas, on June 28th, 1995.

Mario has Mexican American heritage.

Herrera had an uncertain home life at times. When he was young, his parents separated, and he moved in with his grandparents, who raised him and his three siblings from then on.

His father, Mario Herrera Senior, was mostly absent throughout Peso’s upbringing.

Peso’s father was previously also a rapper who went by the stage name Star Baby.

He was signed with Dope House Records in the 1990s and early 2000s.

Mario’s father had seen his fair share of struggle and crime throughout his life.

This may have had quite an influence on Peso, who went to jail for the first time at age 10, dropped out of high school, and started selling drugs in 9th grade.

All of this was occurring while he was beginning to make music.

Since then, Peso has been arrested several times.

Peso has claimed that he had a very violent upbringing that involved drugs and gangs when speaking on the hit podcast “No Jumper” in Los Angeles.

He has had repeat guest appearances on No Jumper, which has no doubt contributed to his fame.
