The Origin Story
Bourne was born Jordan Timothy Jenks in Fort Riley, Kansas, on September 19th, 1993.
He moved around frequently as a child and considered his home to be in Queens, New York City (where his grandmother lived).
Bourne credits his influence in rap and music to his uncle, who rapped around Bourne from a young age.
Bourne didn’t consider himself a good rapper but continued with the encouragement of his uncle, who gifted him an old laptop and introduced him to new artists.

Bourne studied graphic design for a year before dropping out at the age of 18.
His uncle continued to encourage his pursuit of a career in the music industry, and he moved to Atlanta, Georgia, to do so. There, he also studied sound engineering at the SAE.
“When I went to engineering school, they taught us how to set up for a live sound, so I was educated on how to do it,” Bourne said in an interview on Feb 18, 2020, with 16BARS. “I kind of forgot a lot, but I know enough to get it sounding good for myself, so I don’t mind setting it up.”
Bourne briefly collaborated with DJ Burn One at the beginning of his career.
The DJ encouraged Bourne not to use pre-recorded samples but to make his own.
Bourne later worked as a full-time sound engineer at the studio where the two of them worked but left after a year to focus on his career.

Bourne became a full-time producer in 2016, working with such artists as Trippie Redd and Young Nudy.
In 2017, he met rapper Playboi Carti; Carti would use Bourne as his producer almost exclusively during his debut project, and the collaboration between the two peaked with the Billboard Hot 100 hit “Magnolia.”
After the breakout success of Magnolia, Bourne was in big demand.
He produced tracks for a whole swathe of up-and-coming rappers, including Rich the Kid, Trippie Redd, 21 Savage, Young Thug, Lil Uzi Vert, and Famous Dex.
In 2018, Bourne was involved in the production of rapper Kanye West’s album “Ye.”
He was also a producer on West’s 2019 follow-up, “Jesus is King,” which went on to win a Grammy.

Bourne worked with frequent collaborator Young Nudy on the 2019 mixtape, “Sli’merre.”
The 12-track mixtape featured a number of guest performers, including 21 Savage, Dababy, Lil Uzi Vert, and a then-unknown Megan Thee Stallion.
Bourne also has three solo albums: “The Life of Pi’erre 4” (2019), “The Life of Pi’erre 5” (2021), and “Good Movie” (2022).
