Wife & Girlfriend
Randy Cronk began dating television host Kathryn Lee Gifford in 2019.
Prior to meeting Gifford, he was married. The marriage failed, and as a result, he and his ex-wife co-parent his two children, a girl and a boy.
Interestingly, Gifford comes from the same background and has the same fate.
Prior to meeting Cronk, she was married to Paul Johnson, a successful composer and arranger in the show and music business.
The two married in 1976; unfortunately, they called it quits in 1981 and finalized the divorce in 1982.
Gifford went on to meet her next romantic partner, Frank Gifford, who was a successful American football player and sports commentator. The two married on October 18, 1986.
Together they had two children.
This was a happy marriage, but it ended–Gifford was left a widow of two children. Unfortunately, her husband passed away on August 9, 2015, due to natural causes.
Aside from her high-profile marriages, she lived a relatively public life as well. She is a talented singer and had a short-lived career as a vocalist on the popular game show, “Name That Tune.”
Her career eventually transitioned to acting. In 1978, she was part of the cast for the television show, “Hee Haw Honeys.” but the show was eventually canceled.
Due to her outgoing personality, she went on to find success in syndicated morning shows. When her previous television show was canceled, she was brought on as a correspondent and fill-in news anchor on “ABC’s Good Morning America.”
Her job consisted of interviewing celebrities and other influential people, as well as covering the local news. Her career lasted 5 years, and she left for something new.
On June 24, 1985, Gifford joined the crew on WABC-TV’s “The Morning Show” with Regis Philbin, replacing the popular Ann Abernathy. The show was a huge success and eventually transitioned into the uber-successful “Live! With Regis and Kathie Lee.”
It was at this point that Gifford’s popularity and fame really blew up since the show was one of America’s most popular morning shows.
Her career lasted quite a while and but on March 31, 2008, Gifford publicly announced that she would be joining NBC’s equally popular morning show, “Today.”
Gifford was brought on as the co-host of hour 4 for the segment “Today with Kathie Lee and Hoda.”
In addition to her broadcasting career, she has made many guest appearances and accepted acting roles in both television and films. She also released a few albums independently since singing was a big part of her life.
Back when “Slim Fast” was popular, Gifford was brought on as their spokesperson. She did so well that she was then brought on as the face and spokesperson of Carnival Cruise Lines, which was in the late 1980s and lasted a few years through the early 1990s.
Her fame continued to grow, and she began to get invites for cameos on popular sitcoms.
In 1994, she guest appeared as herself in one episode of the very successful television show, “Seinfeld.”
Her career also included many voiceovers in both television shows and movies. She was cast as the voice for Echidna in the popular 90s television cartoon “Hercules,” as well as “Higglytown Heroes” in 2004.
Gifford was also cast to play the role of Miss Hannigan in a Broadway-style performance of “Annie” at New York’s Madison Square Garden in December 2006.
While she enjoyed these types of roles, she maintained her career in television broadcasting. In 2005, she became a correspondent on “The Insider,” which is one of America’s entertainment magazine television shows.
In 2019, she and Cronk met, and the relationship got serious rather quickly. The two took a while to talk publicly about it, but they were spotted together on numerous occasions.
Aside from their unplanned public spottings, they are relatively quiet about their relationship, presumably because Cronk is a private person who is not a part of the entertainment industry.
They are currently still dating, and neither of them has publicly stated if they plan on marrying.
Cronk is not active on any social media platforms aside from LinkedIn. The only information regarding his life is offered sparingly through Gifford from time to time.
Aside from this, he lives a relatively quiet life far away from the public radar, raising his two children from his previous marriage.
