What is Sofie Dossi’s net worth? Is Sofie Dossi dating anyone now?
Sofie Dossi is a world-famous performing artist and YouTuber who shot to fame as one of the finalists on the NBC hit show America’s Got Talent.
AGT may have chosen her as a finalist and Golden Buzzer recipient, but audiences around the world agreed.
When she launched her own YouTube channel hot on the heels of the America’s Got Talent finale, she was on fire. More than 9.3 million subscribers, more than 1.8 billion views—Sofie was a hit.
From mainstream TV bookings to live interviews and talk show appearances, she’s been covered by some of the biggest media outlets in the world.
All that, and she’s hardly out of her teens!
Here’s what else we know about the stunning Sofie Dossi.
The Origin Story
Sofie Dossi was born on the 21st of June, 2001, in Cypress, California.
Her exotic looks are courtesy of her multicultural heritage—Sofie’s mom is Arabic, and her dad is Italian.
Sofie has an older brother named Zac, who works as a music producer in California. “I have played piano since we [Sofie and her brother] were super young,” Sofie said.
When Dossi was 12 years old, she watched an online video of a girl who was, in her words, “really bendy!”
It sparked her interest and led her to get involved in gymnastics—which she would do competitively for the next decade of her life—as well as dance.
What she wasn’t learning in gymnastics classes, she was teaching herself, but she credits gymnastics with helping her build a foundation of strength and flexibility.
In an interview, Dossi explained that she was always flexible.
“Like, I’d watch TV with feet over my head.”
She fell in love with contortion.
She also credits her parents with teaching her the discipline to practice at home when she didn’t feel like it and for giving Sofie her first real audience.
That real audience was her family and friends at big celebrations.
Within a year of starting gymnastics, she was entertaining in front of a crowd, and that’s how she got her first big break—she caught the eye of an entertainment company that would go on to hire her for big events.
Dossi said in an NBC interview that her goal was to give audiences something they had never seen before.
That’s what motivates her to create new shows all the time.
America’s Got Talent
Dossi auditioned for season 11 of America’s Got Talent.
The television blockbuster show, which averaged 10 million viewers per episode, invited Dossi back again for the spin-off, America’s Got Talent: The Champions.
Her audition involved bending her knees over her head and balancing one-handed on a cane.
She grabbed an apple with her legs and took a bite out of it. Then, while in a handstand position, she used a bow and arrow to hit a target.
The display sent Sofie to the Judge Cuts.
During her Judge Cuts performance, Dossi received a standing ovation from judges Heidi Klum, Reba McEntire, Spice Girl Mel B, and Howie Mandel.
Country superstar Reba McEntire was so impressed that she awarded Sofie the Golden Buzzer—sending her straight through to the show’s quarterfinals.
At the quarterfinals, Sofie received another round of standing ovations for her performance and secured enough votes to put her above Flip, and Ryan Stock and AmberLynn—sending the latter three home.
Dossi barely scraped through at the semifinals but received the Dunkin’ Save for receiving more online votes than some of her competition.
That secured her a place in the show’s finals.
Sadly, Sofie didn’t receive enough votes in the finale to make the AGT Top 5, sending her out of the competition.
In America’s Got Talent: The Champions, previous contestants—including Sofie Dossi—were brought back to take out a consolation prize.
Dossi didn’t make it past the preliminaries but returned in episode 1412 as a guest performer.
