She was born on January 9, 1986, in Guangzhou, Guangdong, China.

Wengie has a younger brother named Jim.

Her parents moved to Sydney when she was five years old.

”Collabs Vol. 1 (Int’l Ver.)” has five tracks that feature artists across the Asia-Pacific region. ”The whole reason why my first EP “collabs” exists is to spread love and awareness for Asia,” Wengie wrote on her Instagram in March 2021. ”Each track was created with a fellow Asian artist from parts of Asia I had love for.”

Wengie is engaged to YouTuber Maxmello.

He proposed to Wengie in August 2015 on a road trip to Yosemite national park.
