Introduction

Trey Tucker is an American film and television actor, and model.

He came to prominence following his role in the hit Hollywood films “What Lies Beneath” and “The Outpost.”

His most notable role is as Bobby Pin in the hit television series “Heels.”

The Origin Story

Trey Tucker was born on October 16, 1989, in Dallas, Texas, United States, and was raised alongside his sister, Halie Tucker.

There is not a lot of publicly available information about his early life as he tends to keep that aspect of his identity away from the public eye.

Tucker has always been interested in acting and started his career at a young age.

His roles were minor, albeit they gave him screen time and experience.

Prior to his career in film and television taking off, he made a living as an independent woodworker.

He explains in an interview the reasons that his career failed and why it’s only a side hobby now:

I made my money doing that for a couple of years. I wasn’t great at it; I started to do it professionally before. I think I was really good enough to do that, but I suppose that’s one way to learn how to do something, so I did my best.”

This career didn’t last long as he took a spin at the performative arts and was successful.

His first recognized role was in 2013 when he was cast as Tony on the television series “Frank.” The series is centered around the main character, Frank, a mob boss who is unsatisfied with the career he chose. Tucker’s character is a prevalent member of the show and has recurring scenes.

That same year, he was cast as a soldier in the short film “Lou Ann Petty: A Soldier’s Wife.” The show’s premise is exactly how it sounds – a soldier’s wife patiently waits for her soldier husband to arrive home.

Between 2013 and 2017, Tucker was busy filming on the set of Frank. Still, no other opportunities were presented to him.

In 2017, however, he was cast as Harrison Lane’s character in the blockbuster hit film “Space Between Us.” The drama/romance/sci-fi follows the character who is the first human born on Mars and travels to Earth for the first time. The show was a hit at the box office and brought further recognition to Tucker as an up-and-coming actor.

That same year, he was cast to play Tiny in the short drama film “A Midwestern Methamphetamine Fairytale.” The premise of the film is to depict the difficulties of life.

Once the filming wrapped, he was cast as Deputy Marino in “The Neighborhood Nightmare,” a straight-to-cable movie. The thriller is about a responsible mother and head of the local neighborhood watch program who enters an unknowing dangerous relationship with a man she fell for. She quickly learns that she put her and her daughter’s life in grave danger.

By the end of 2018, Tucker landed another role, this time in another blockbuster hit. He played David in “The Matchmaker’s Playbook.” The romantic/comedy is about a former NFL player who has a career-ending accident, so he retreats back to campus to get his dating game on. Tucker had a minor role in the film, but it was significant enough to give him more exposure to hit movies.

In 2019, he was successful in landing another role. He was cast as CPT Stoney Portis in “The Outpost,” an action/drama/history film about a team of American soldiers who were against the Taliban fighters of Afghanistan.

Although Tucker had a minor role in the movie, it still helped propel his career since it performed well and further promoted him as an actor.

2019 was a year that changed his career for the better. He landed one of his first prominent roles in the blockbuster hit film, “What Lies Below.” The horror/mystery/sci-fi is about a 16-year-old girl who returns home from camp and is introduced to her mother’s new boyfriend, who has ulterior motives in the relationship. The movie was his most successful to date and garnered him a lot of attention. He gave numerous interviews to promote the film, which was something his career had not presented at that point.

In 2021, he was cast as Bobby Pin in the American sport-drama television series “Heels.” The show covers the story of two brothers and rivals who go to war over their late father’s wrestling promotion.

During one of his many interviews, he explained how the show was very easy to connect with:

What makes it easy to connect with is that it’s about a group of very, very different people who all just happen to really love this one thing. And what ensues when you put those same people in a room, and they have all their issues.”

He explained that despite how different people can be, they could come together for one similar thing they collectively love, and that is what the television show portrays, which the viewers can relate to.
