He was born on December 18, 1954, as Raymond Allen Liotta. His adoptive parents are Mary and Alfred Liotta. He was adopted at 6 months old. Alfred and Mary are Italian immigrants.

He was a film producer and actor best known for his role as Henry Hill in Martin Scorsese’s Goodfellas, Big Jim Keene in Black Bird, and Matt Wozniak in Shades of Blue.

Ray had a career that covered so much more than those two roles, however.

He won a Primetime Emmy Award and was also nominated for two Screen Actors Guilds Awards and a Golden Globe Award.

The New Jersey actor was first thrust into the public eye in 1986 when he landed a role in the movie Something Wild which landed him his first Golden Globe Award nomination for Best Supporting Actor.

It was in 1989 and 1990, however, that the world of Hollywood was really introduced to Liotta, thanks to his performances in Field of Dreams, and Goodfellas, respectively.

As the years ticked by, he would star in hits such as Copland, Narc, John Q, No Escape, Identity, and many more besides.

He would also land numerous TV roles.

Arguably Liotta’s third most popular role, however, was in a video game, when he voiced the character of Tommy Vercetti in 2002’s GTA: Vice City video game, which had a distinct Scarface vibe to it.

When appearing on Good Morning Britain in 2016, Liotta appeared to be intoxicated and under the influence of alcohol, or other substances.

His behavior was erratic, and he was slurring his words and struggling to speak clearly.

Unfortunately, as is always the case nowadays, when somebody does pass away, a great deal of rumors began surfacing around the circumstances of his death.

To begin with, there were rumors that he had been suffering from cancer, which actually began when he was seen looking unwell in public after his facelift.

Despite these rumors, it was never confirmed that Liotta had been suffering from cancer, and many close to the late actor have reportedly shot down these claims.

Some people also claimed that the actor had been suffering from arrhythmia, which is again unconfirmed.

The general consensus, however, is that Liotta had suffered a cardiac arrest in his sleep, which grew in severity and turned into a heart attack that took his life in the night.

If this is indeed true, it must have been a severe cardiac event because he passed away before he could reach the intensive care unit and be treated by medical professionals.
