In 1997, Ng earned his undergraduate degree with a triple major in economics, statistics, and computer science, from Carnegie Mellon University in Pittsburgh.
Andrew earned his master’s degree from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology in Cambridge in 1998.
In 2002, Ng received his Ph.D. from UC Berkeley.

Starting in 2002, he conducted research in robotics, machine learning, and artificial intelligence at Stanford.
From 2011 to 2012, Andrew worked at Google. There, Ng, along with Greg Corrado and Jeff Dean, founded the Google Brain Deep Learning Project. Google Brain combines large-scale computing resources and systems engineering with open-ended machine learning research.

In September 2016, Andrew introduced PaddlePaddle, an open-source deep-learning platform.
In March 2017, Ng resigned from Baidu. He said:

The couple first met at the IEEE International Conference on Robotics and Automation in Kobe.
