What was Gabenotbabe’s net worth at the time of his death?
Gabenotbabe was a Mexican American social media celebrity with millions of followers who had a net worth of $150,000 at the time of his death. He first caught our collective attention in 2020 when he went viral with one of the trending challenges of the day.
From there, the savvy young TikTok star was able to parlay a few viral videos into a burgeoning career.
The kid had potential—and his fans all saw it. Sadly, Gabenotbabe’s rising star burned out in the late summer of 2021 when he was involved in a fatal car crash in Texas.
The young up and comer with more than 2 million followers and hundreds of millions of video views was only 19 years old when he died.
The Origin Story
Gabriel Salazar was born on January 12, 2002, in Brownsville, Texas.
He has two siblings, a brother, and a sister named Danna.
The family was raised in Brownsville, but eventually moved to Alamo, a Texas city that is further west along the border between Mexico and Texas.
Salazar was an average student who was most passionate about finding fame.
He launched his TikTok career in February of 2020 out of boredom and curiosity, getting involved in viral challenges with his friends and taking part in trending content.
Instagram—which was already a huge social media platform by 2020—was also high on Salazar’s priorities list.
He often shared selfies of himself and his friends, and a few Instagram Live videos, to his growing fanbase.
Puppy Love
Gabenotbabe tended to keep his love life private—and separate from his online persona.
It was impossible for him to keep things completely under wraps in the digital era, though, and fans eventually found out that he was dating brunette Instagrammer, Dominique Pumariega.
While the pair didn’t make things Instagram official, eagle-eyed fans regularly spotted Pumariega in Salazar’s videos.
She last appeared in one of his videos on TikTok on May 2, 2021, although a now deleted video posted after his death—apparently posted by Pumariega—showed countless selfies and screenshots of texts between the young and in-love pair.
The Road To Fame
Gabenotbabe began his climb to social media stardom with lip sync challenges and dance videos on TikTok.
His gregarious personality and love of life came across easily in the videos, and Gabe is often seen laughing and joking with friends in his videos.
He quickly started to catch people’s attention—especially teenage girls on the ultra-popular social media platform.
Gabenotbabe shared a video to TikTok that amassed hundreds of thousands of views within hours of being posted.
The video, titled POV I drop u off after our first time hanging out, was a major success for the young wannabe star.
Recent events made things easier for the Mexican American teen—he had a lot of free time on his hands and was receiving a lot of encouraging reactions from fans.
Within six months of his first video, Gabenotbabe had racked up more than 50 million likes on TikTok—and a staggering 1.3 million followers.

The End of the Road
Sadly, Gabenotbabe’s meteoric rise to the TikTok top was cut short on September 26, 2021.
At around 1:20 AM that Sunday morning, a police officer attempted to pull over a white Chevrolet Camaro on Highway 83 in Zavala County, Texas.
The car, which was being driven by Salazar, did not stop—and the officer reported that he was then in pursuit.
Another officer joined the chase, attempting to lay down a tire deflation device to stop the vehicle. This attempt failed.
At some point after that, the Texas Department of Public Safety said the Camaro went through a series of moves—driving off the road, over-correcting, driving into the west barrow ditch, colliding with trees, rolling, and eventually catching fire.
Salazar was pronounced dead on the scene, as were his passengers: Jose Molina-Lara, Sergio Espinoza-Flores, and Jose Luis Jimenez-Mora.
It is unclear if the vehicle belonged to Salazar, but his last Instagram post showed him staring into the distance as he sat on the hood of a white Chevy Camaro.
A family friend started a GoFundMe to raise money to cover Salazar’s funeral costs—the fund raised more than $40,000.
Net Worth
So, how much was Gabenotbabe worth?
Salazar earned most of his wealth from sponsors through posting on social media.
