She is best known as the daughter of country & western legends Tammy Wynette and George Jones.

Jones was born Tamala Georgette Jones on October 5th, 1970, in Lakeland, Florida.
Her parents were George Jones – a famous country & western singer in his own right – and Tammy Wynette, who was also a headlining country & western act.

Jones’ father was absent for much of her childhood due to his problems with alcoholism and drug abuse; he and Wynette divorced when their daughter was only six years old.
Though her parents continued to occasionally perform together, there was much acrimony, and the two were unable to fully reconcile until much later in Jones’ life.

George Jones passed away in 2013. “Dad achieved much with awards and his career, but his biggest achievement is his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren,” Georgette wrote on her Instagram in April 2023.
Her mom, Tammy Wynette, passed away on April 6, 1998. “There’s not a single day that goes by that I don’t think of her and miss her terribly,” Jones said about her mother.

Jones has acted on TV once: in 2008, she portrayed her mother in a TV series entitled Sordid Lives: The Series, which chronicled her mother and father’s turbid relationship.
Jones also has two writing credits to her name; she wrote two episodes of the 2022 Showtime Drama Tammy & George, which chronicled the tumultuous marriage of Jones’ parents.
