Taylor Swift has never headlined the Super Bowl halftime show. In October 2025, Swift even denied rejecting an offer to play the Super Bowl halftime show in California in February 2026.
“We would always love to have Taylor play,” said NFL CEO Roger Goodell. “She is a special, special talent, and obviously she would be welcome at any time.”
For the past years, Roc Nation, Jay Z’s entertainment company, was responsible for the Super Bowl halftime shows.
“Jay-Z has always been very good to me,” Taylor told Jimmy Fallon during The Tonight Show on October 6, 2025. “Our teams are very close. They sometimes will call and say, ‘How does she feel about…?’ and that’s not an official offer or a conference room conversation. We’re always able to tell him the truth, which is that I am in love with a guy who does that sport on that actual field.”
So, there are several reasons for Taylor Swift not performing at the Super Bowl halftime show, including the fact that there is no formal offer on the table and that she does not want to be on stage while her fiancé, Travis Kelce, is playing on that field.

In fact, the pop superstar attended the 2024 and 2025 Super Bowls in a supportive girlfriend capacity.
Note – Kelce proposed to the singer in August 2025. “Your English teacher and your gym teacher are getting married,” they wrote in a joint Instagram post.
Who knows, maybe she’ll change her mind once her tight-end fiancé retires.
In 2022, it was reported that Taylor Swift was asked to perform at Super Bowl LVII but turned the offer down until she finished rerecording all of her first 6 albums.

Another probable reason concerns the financial aspect of the whole operation. To start, consider that artists do not get paid a massive paycheck to play the Super Bowl halftime show.
“The NFL covers all costs associated with the show and does pay the performers union scale,” Brian McCarthy, the NFL’s vice president of communications, explained.

At the Super Bowl LIX, Taylor was there to support her then-boyfriend, Travis Kelce, who plays for the Kansas City Chiefs.
As soon as she appeared on screen, a wave of boos rumbled throughout the stadium.
Swift was booed for a good 10 seconds, but failed to realize what was going on initially. “What’s going on?” she was seen saying on the scoreboard in response to the boos.

“The only one that had a tougher night than the Kansas City Chiefs was Taylor Swift,” Trump wrote on social media several hours later. “She got BOOED out of the Stadium. MAGA is very unforgiving!”
