Ruby Martinez, from the Netflix show On My Block, is played by Jason Genao.
Born on July 3rd, 1996, in Jersey City, New Jersey, America, he is a US actor who, despite his young age, has enjoyed a career that has spanned close to one decade already.
Jason is of Dominican-American Heritage and was born and raised in New Jersey.
He studied and graduated from New Jersey’s William L. Dickinson High School.

Genao is renowned for a number of roles, including On My Block and The Get Down, but most will probably recognize him from his appearance in the superhero X-Men movie ‘Logan’ starring Hugh Jackman in 2017. Jackman, incidentally, is slated to reprise his role as Logan/Wolverine in 2024’s (Deadpool 3).
In Logan, Jason played a brash, cocky, young mutant leader by the name of Rictor. The character was very memorable, and this was arguably Jason’s biggest role to date.
Despite this, however, he has appeared in countless other shows, movies, and roles for close to ten years, having made his debut in 2015.
He initially acted in school productions before attending a local acting school to hone his skills.
In 2015, he made his debut as a young FBI agent in a Dominican-American action comedy entitled Ladrones.
The following year, he would appear as a young delinquent on Law and Order: Special Victims Unit, and it was here that people really started to take notice of him.
He would go on to audition for the role of Zeke in Netflix’s The Get Down.
His audition was not successful, but he did land the role of Napoleon instead. Napoleon is The Get Down Brothers’ record boy and is another character that is a firm fan favorite.
In 2018, however, he landed his most notable role yet, as Ruby Martinez in the Netflix teen drama-comedy On My Block.

So, how tall is Ruby from On My Block? Well, before we learn more about the character, we first need to look at On My Block.
Created by Lauren Lungerich, it is a coming-of-age, teen drama-comedy Netflix show. The show centers on a group of High School teens finding their lifelong friendships being tested when they attend High School.
The show is set in a rough neighborhood in inner-city LA by the name of Freeridge.
The show was released on Netflix in 2018 and had 10 episodes.
It was a hit with audiences, and subsequently, Netflix renewed it for a second season.
Considering Netflix had a reputation for canceling shows, even when the ratings and reviews were okay, this was quite the surprise, albeit a pleasant one, for fans of the show.
The main characters are Monse Finnie, Jamal Turner, Jasmine Flores, Oscar ‘Spooky’ Diaz, and, of course, Ruby Martinez Jr., of whom we are focussing today.
Ruby is a book-smart, brash, smart-aleck math expert who’s great with numbers and often serves as the moral conscience of the group.
Ruby, who is of Mexican descent, is the cool, calm, and collected one of the bunch.
His calm demeanor and his small stature mean that he is a very calming influence on the group.

So, how tall is Ruby from On My Block?
So, now the time has come for us to answer the burning question, the one that has plagued people’s minds since 2018 – how tall is Ruby from On My Block?
Ruby Martinez may be a fictional character, but he is played by a very real actor. Jason Genao is not a very tall actor, nor is he very well built, but he has an incredible screen presence and really commands the screen whenever he is on.
Ruby is the shortest of the group of friends by quite a margin, as he is around 5′ 1½″ inches tall. Because of his short stature and slender physique, Jason often looks even younger on screen than he actually is.
