Joe Rogan is not a Christian. But he’s not an atheist either. Rogan, a self-described agnostic, said on his podcast episode #2325 in 2024, “It’s a f@@ked up world we live in. We need Jesus. For real, like if you came back now, like Jesus, if you’re thinking about coming back, right now, now’s a good time. Now’s a good time.”
In a conversation with Kid Rock, Rogan expressed, “I think the concept of Jesus is absolutely amazing, and if Jesus came here and wanted to visit me, I would be psyched.”
Rogan also told comedy podcast host Cody Tucker in 2025 that he’s “sticking with Jesus” when it comes to miraculous claims. “Jesus makes more sense. People have come back to life,” he added.
At the end of episode #2252 of the Joe Rogan Experience podcast, Rogan concluded:
“If you do live like a Christian, and you do follow the principles of Christ, you will have a richer and more love-filled life. So, it is true, right? But you have to submit to this concept that this guy was the Child of God who came down to earth and let himself be crucified, came back from the dead, explained a bunch of stuff for people, then said, ‘Alright, see you when I come back.’”
Attended a Catholic School
At age 6, Rogan went for nine months at a Catholic School.

At that time, his parents were going through a divorce.
“Because I was a little kid dealing with my parents splitting up, and there didn’t seem to be any order in the world, and I was very nervous,” Rogan confessed in 2018. “So finally, l was happy because I was gonna go to Catholic school. But then, as I experienced it, at six, I said, ‘This is ridiculous, it doesn’t make any sense.’ First of all, these people are so mean and nasty, they are not comforting and loving. And when I compared them with the way my grandmother was or my mother was, I felt these ladies are nasty. They represent God? This is crazy!”
At some point, he ‘probably’ became an atheist.

“I was pretty atheist. I grew up; I went to Catholic school, when I was very young, for first grade,” he said in episode #2172 [1:31:50]. “And I had a really bad experience there. And I was like, ‘Religion is bullsh**.’”
Rogan has become more spiritual after the death of his grandfather.
In episode #1965, Joe denied he was an atheist.
“I am not an atheist. I’ve never been an atheist. I’ve never been someone who says, ‘I know there is no God.’”
Rogan is reportedly attending a Texas church

He has started attending services on a consistent basis, describing it as a “very nice” place where people are trying to become “better.”
In 2025, Christian apologist Wesley Huff said that Rogan “is attending a church, and that has been a consistent thing.” Huff serves as the Central Canada Director for Apologetics Canada and is an expert in biblical manuscripts and Christian theology.
