Matthew Wolff Net Worth $10 Million

What is Matthew Wolff’s net worth?

Matthew Wolff is a professional golfer who plays on the PGA Tour who has a net worth of $10 million. He has picked up some major accolades over his short career.

From NCAA All-American in college, to 2019 NCAA Division I championship winner, to 2019 3M Open winner, and record holder for the best scoring average in NCAA history—this young up-and-comer is making a major name for himself.

Talented, successful, and with all American good looks and a charming personality, it’s no wonder Matthew Wolff is in hot demand both on the fairway and in the media.

Matthew Brandyn Wolff was born on April 14, 1999, in Simi Valley, California.

His parents, Bill and Shari, are Jewish, and they raised their son in Agoura Hills, California.

He’d shown a love of golf early on, so his parents enrolled him at Lake Lindero Country Club for the Lindero Kids Summer Sports Camp.

He played junior golf there, and headed to Westlake High School to finish out his schooling.

In 2017 he competed in the US Junior Amateur Golf Championship—he placed as runner-up.

Wolff signed with the University of Southern California to play college golf, eventually backtracking and enrolling at Oklahoma State.

The move paid off—Wolff earned four runner-up placements, first-team All American honors, and took out the Phil Mickelson Award as the top freshman golfer in the US.

It was while representing Oklahoma State that he also scored his 2018 NCAA Division I Championship title.

He also joined the Phi Gamma Delta fraternity.

In 2018, Wolff made moves of a different kind—he became a Christian.

He and a high school buddy—Spencer Soosman—had grown up in the Jewish faith but were curious about Christianity.

They spent time with Karsten Majors—a fellow golfer—and linked up with Jonathan Moore.

Moore would become Wolff’s spiritual mentor.

Wolff’s mom, Shari, has seen a change in her son since his turn to Christianity and his baptism.

Those closest to him noticed an increase in his confidence and an easing in the pressure he put on himself. “It took the pressure away from golf,” the young golfer explained. “This isn’t all I have.”

In his sophomore year at Oklahoma State, the titles kept rolling in for Matthew.

From a Carmel Cup win to the OFCC Fighting Illini Invitational, to medalist honors at the Royal Oaks Intercollegiate—Wolff was on fire.

He rose to the top of the college rankings and made his PGA Tour debut in 2019 in Phoenix.

Wolff can credit his switch to Oklahoma State with another win, too.

Girlfriend

It was there that he met Kim Lloyd.

Lloyd was studying Economics, and was part of the graduating class of 2021, when she met the college golf star.

They began dating in 2019. Kim was part of the Zeta Tau Alpha sorority, and also its acting vice president of membership.

Wolff officially went pro in June of 2019 when he made his debut at the 2019 Travelers Championship.

From there, it was all go—next came his July 7, 2019, PGA Tour victory in Minnesota.

The win secured Matthew a PGA Tour exemption and over $1 million in prize money.

It also solidified his place as a legendary young golfer—he joins Tiger Woods and Ben Crenshaw as one of three golfers to ever win an NCAA title and a PGA Tour in the same year.

At the 2020 PGA Championship, Matthew placed fourth equal. He backed that up with a runner-up placing at the US Open in September 2020, and—thanks to a top 5 finish—took home $1.3 million.

Matthew Wolff might be ahead of the game with a stellar sports career and millions of dollars before he’s even 25, but he wants people to know he’s not untouchable.

In fact, he shared in an interview with Golf Digest, that there was a time when he didn’t want to get out of bed.

“I just want to stay in bed and not be in front of everyone and not screw up in front of everyone.”

It was important for the young sports star that he finds the time to recover—physically and mentally—from the game, and get his head straight without the relentless pressure of the media, the game, and the fans. For him, finding that time meant skipping the PGA Championship to recuperate.

For Wolff, the most important part of that recuperation is enjoying himself again.

Self-care is his approach to staying on track for the long term, with Wolff explaining that:

“I love these fans, and I want to play well for them. But right now, I’m just really trying to be happy.”
