Anton Kreil is the founder of the Institute of Trading and Portfolio Management, a trading education and asset management company.
Kreil is a former floor trader for JP Morgan, Lehman Brothers, and Goldman Sachs. He gained fame for his appearance in the 2009 TV show Million Dollar Traders on BBC Television in the UK.
He was born on January 16, 1979, in Liverpool, England.
”My father left and moved to Germany when I was four years old, and my mother had to work all hours to keep the house running for my younger brother,” Kreil said about his childhood.
Anton opened his first trading account when he was sixteen.
He studied Economics at Manchester University. Anton graduated in 2000.
From 2000 to 2004, Kreil worked as an institutional trader for Goldman Sachs. At Goldman Sachs, Anton became known around the market as one of the ”big situation traders.”
Anton worked for Lehman Brothers from 2004 to 2006, and for JP Morgan from February 2006 to May 2007. He used to trade Futures, Spread Bet, ETC, ETF, CFD, Rates, Commodities, Currencies, and Equities.
At JP Morgan and Lehman Brothers, Kreil served as the Head of Pan European Pharmaceuticals and Chemicals Trading.
Million Dollar Traders
From 2008 to 2009, Kreil was involved in producing a BBC program titled: Million Dollar Traders. The reality TV series was devised by hedge fund manager Lex van Dam.
On Million Dollar Traders, several contestants received the equivalent of $1 million to trade for 2 months. Kreil served as a trading instructor and a manager for the contestants.
The contestants came from different backgrounds, including a student, a retired IT engineer, a working mother, a fight promoter, a banking recruitment consultant, and a day trader.
In 2009, Kreil started hablib.com (the shortened version of Habitation Libertum – home freedom), a residential property website that offered an alternative to the usual property advertising offering.
”We do things that other estate agents do, but the difference is that we have decided to charge 0%,” Anton said.
The Institute of Trading and Portfolio Management
In 2010, Anton founded The Institute of Trading and Portfolio Management (PTM) with the aim to mention, coach, and educate aspirational traders.
In October 2012, Kreil announced that he plans to become the first person to make a financial trade in space.
In December 2014, it was reported that Anton pledged to give away $1 million to students of the Institute’s Professional Trading Masterclass Video Series. It was also revealed that PTM would release four batches of $250,000 trading accounts.

Anton Kreil is married to Meng Jiang.
In January 2016, he posted a photo on Facebook with his wife holding three dogs.
”The Panda Chow Chows! Toudou (Potato), Yumi (Sweetcorn), and DouDou (Bean),” he wrote on the FB post. Anton added: ”Very proud of my wife Meng Jiang launching her new venture.”
