Biography

He was born on February 26, 1980, in the USA, as Christopher Morocco.

His parents are Catherine and David Morocco. His mother worked as an Assistant Professor at Clark University in Worcester, Massachusetts.

Chris grew up in Newton, Massachusetts.

In 2003, Morocco majored in French at Oberlin College.

In 2019, Morocco became the host of Reverse Engineering, a web series on the Bon Appétit YouTube channel. In each episode, Chris recreates a dish from only touch, smell, and taste.

In June 2020, Adam Rapoport, Bon Appétit’s editor-in-chief, resigned after a 2013 Instagram post resurfaced with him in what some called “brown face.”

In August 2020, 10 Bon Appétit test kitchen stars (Amiel Stanek, Claire Saffitz, Carla Lalli Music, Christina Chaey, Molly Baz, Alex Delany, Gaby Melian, Rick Martinez, Priya Krishna, and Sohla El-Waylly) have left the company.
