Christopher Nance Net Worth – $2 million

What was weatherman Christopher Nance’s net worth at the time of his death?

Introduction

On US television, few people command as much love from the public as the people who bring us the weather.

Accurate or not, they are people that we come to see as part of our daily routine and schedule.

We put on the TV in the morning, take a brief look at the news, and then get an idea of what weather to expect for the day, don’t we?

It’s almost a ritual for most Americans out there.

Well, if you are used to checking out the weather on NBC, then you probably came across Christoper Nance.

Christoper Nance was a very popular part of the NBC news coverage, focusing primarily on the weather side of things but also semi-regularly appearing on other news stories as an NBC journalist.

Known for his upbeat demeanor and charming personality, Nance was an icon of the channel for years.

Sadly, Nance passed away in September 2012.

With around 12 years since his untimely passing, we wanted to shine a light on one of the most brilliant weather staff to ever hold a regular position on US television.

He was an exceptional part of the industry and has been sorely missed since his passing.

The Origin Story

As mentioned above, Nance was a weather professional who worked primarily for NBC.

He was born on the 22nd February, 1968, and grew up in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina.

He was raised in the area by his parents (names unknown), and from a young age, he showed both a passion and aptitude for being in the weather industry.

Apparently, it was the job he wanted as a kid – and the job he did as a professional!

Nance worked on this lifelong passion from a young age, always looking to chase the qualifications and academic results needed to move into this kind of journalism.

He worked on his craft and, paired with his natural charisma and enthusiasm, was a perfect match for what people were searching for.

We know that Nance grew up with a sibling, too, but information about whether it was a brother or sister is entirely unverifiable.

If that information ever becomes available, we will be sure to include it as part of this Christoper Nance biography.

Nance grew up, like many in Myrtle Beach, a Christian.

He attended Apple Valley High School, completing his high school education before moving into further education.

Where he studied journalism, though, is unknown: we simply know that Nance moved from high school to a journalism academic route that included having a specific focus on weather-focused journalism.

Work

Nance was a well-respected journalist who got into the field with NBC, one of the largest broadcasting companies in the United States today.

He spent much of his early life studying to land that role in the profession, and so was able to do so at an early age.

He moved into the field of being a weatherman very quickly, and won fans with viewers, and those who saw him giving weather reports during the day.

Most of his professional tenure was spent with NBC, where he built up a solid audience and was respected by all.

He became one of the station’s most visible and well-known weather professionals.

He was known for bringing the weather news, rain or shine, with a sense of positivity and optimism that was often out of sync with the profession. However, more importantly, he was known for being very accurate!

Charitable Acts

Another reason why viewers of his show loved Nance was that he was a very committed contributor to charitable causes.

He regularly assisted in supporting children with various illnesses, too, giving up a lot of his time to help out and raise awareness in these areas.

Like many in his field, Nance was never one to keep quiet about issues that he felt needed to be given more public interest.

This meant that he regularly got involved in charity advertising campaigns, as well as being involved in local charitable causes that were close to his heart.

Wife

Christopher was happily married to Nichollete Ortega-Nance, and they gave birth to a daughter, Noella Bergener.

Noella has become a TV star in her own right, landing a role on the reality TV show The Real Housewives of Orange County.

Sadly, Christopher’s life came to an untimely end before he could truly celebrate the success that his daughter would have in the TV industry.

Illness And Death

Unfortunately, Nance suffered from a condition known as sickle cell anemia.

This is a dangerous condition that impacts our body’s red blood cells and is typically an unbeatable illness. However, while Nance suffered from this rare condition until his death on the 4th of September 2012, aged just 44, Nance is regarded as one of the longest-surviving patients of the condition in America.

The condition is known to be a damaging condition that is untreatable without the use of extensive treatment like bone marrow transplants. However, most with the condition simply manage the symptoms for as long as they can.

Sadly, it was this horrible illness that brought about the untimely death of one of America’s well-loved weather presenters.
