During his time as a bouncer, he eventually got a chance to play on the stage of the very same bar that he was working at.
This led to success in his career, including the chance to play at a country music show in Boone.
Having spent five years working on his degree, he left with just 21 hours left of his degree to chase a musical career.
In doing so, he moved to Nashville, Tennessee, and started to write more music.
