Dom Kennedy (birth name – Dominic Ross Hunn) is an American rapper who got his start in the underground hip-hop scenes of Los Angeles, California.

The Origin Story

The California native was born on August 22, 1984, and had a relatively normal life.

His parents divorced when he was young, and he and his mom moved to Leimert Park, Los Angeles.

As a kid and teen, Dom mostly played basketball and baseball in his free time.

After high school, Dom continued his education at Santa Monica College. He always knew he’d make something of himself as an entrepreneur, so he studied Business Management.

Dom credits growing up in LA as a key factor in why his rap career has been so successful.

He told No Jumper, “You know, growing up in the city, you meet a lot of people… That’s kind of my story with LA. When I go places, sometimes I know people because I do music, but sometimes I know people because I just know them.”
