Jiaoying Summers was born on January 18th, 1990, in Henan Province, China.
She is a hugely successful comedian, SAG-AFTRA actress, producer, philanthropist, and a former Miss China.
She is also a very successful businesswoman, owning two comedy clubs.
Summers is perhaps best known for her TikTok videos, where she regularly and light-heartedly makes fun of her Asian upbringing, highlighting her past traumas growing up regarding China’s controversial one-child policy.
Summers regularly posts content aimed specifically at tackling Asian racism while promoting acceptance of Asian people and doing her part to improve Asian representation.
She is also a keen philanthropist and is the Asian ambassador for Operation USA, a non-profit humanitarian organization.
As if that is not enough, Summers is also the CEO and founding partner of an international production company known as ‘Summers Media,’ She was also inducted into the Asian Hall of Fame in 2022.
A Troubled Childhood

Jiaoying was born during China’s one-child policy. For those unfamiliar with this policy, it was basically a policy implemented in China between 1979 and 2015, which limited families to just one child.
Jiaoying was born at home because her parents did not want to go to the hospital and face the shame of having a baby girl as their only child.
She was literally almost thrown into a dumpster. This was the harsh reality of life in China at the time.
Summers grew up in China at a time when life was very tough.
Eventually, she decided to travel to America, studying at the University of Kentucky when she was 18 years of age.
A New Life

After arriving in America, she began seeking out new opportunities.
She began working as the president of new business development for a construction company owned by her family.
She got her first taste of stardom, however, in 2013 when she began working as a Hollywood intern for the IMAX Corporation.
Jiaoying is considered by many to be a very beautiful woman.
She had been interested in fashion and beauty from a young age, and in 2014, she entered the international beauty pageant, ‘Queen of the Universe,’ where she won the ‘Miss China’ title.
That was only the beginning for Summers; however, in 2016, she would take up acting. She appeared in a number of shows, including Major Crimes and Alex and Lotus. She was credited as Jiaoying Liang.
Comedy Career

One thing that people notice about Summers straight away is the fact that she is an incredibly funny woman.
When she was auditioning for a police drama show called ‘Rebel’ executive producer John Singleton, who many of you may know for writing and directing 1991’s ‘Boyz ‘n the Hood’ heard Summers having fun and making jokes with other people.
He was so impressed that he suggested she try her hand at comedy.
In 2019, she would perform at her very own open mic night, and would begin posting on TikTok in 2020, obtaining over 1 billion views and close to 2 million followers.
Summers has been subject to criticism from the powers that be over at the TikTok censorship HQ because of her jokes, made at her own expense, regarding her upbringing in China during their one-child policy.
The video went viral and was quickly banned by the Chinese-owned TikTok.
The decision was met with a lot of aggression from her fans, and TikTok would restore her account a few months later. Since then, however, her views suspiciously began dropping noticeably.
As well as posting her material online, Summers also often performs at The Comedy Store, The Laugh Factory, and many more places besides.
She even owns two LA comedy clubs, which she called ‘The Pasadena Comedy Club’ and ‘The Hollywood Comedy Club.’
Jiaoying Summers has an estimated net worth of $2 million.
So, who is Jiaoying Summers’ husband?
According to her TikTok page and various other outlets, including IMDB, we have discovered that Jiaoying Summers is, in fact, married to fellow Asian comedian James Tang. Tang is the co-owner of ‘The Hollywood Comedy Club’ and ‘Pasadena Comedy Club’ along with his wife, Jiaoying. The couple have two children together.

There are some Jiaoying Summers rumors circulating which state that James Tang and Jiaoying Summers may have separated, but there is no concrete evidence to back this up at this time.
