Matt Sallee Net Worth – $3 million
What is Matt Sallee’s net worth? Who is Matt Sallee’s wife?
Matt Sallee is an American musician and bass singer most known for his membership in the Texan a cappella group Pentatonix.
The group is best known for its innovative covers of Christmas songs, although they do also produce original content.
The Origin Story
Sallee was born on February 11th, 1994, in Baltimore, MD.
He was raised in La Plata, MD, and developed an interest in music from an early age.
Sallee’s father was a pastor at a local church, and encouraged his son to develop his singing in the church choir.
His powerful singing voice did not go unnoticed, and Sallee soon began appearing in musicals and shows throughout the southern Maryland area.
Classically trained, Sallee was a constant presence in the Maurice J. McDonough High School choir throughout his entire time there.
During this time, his choir had the opportunity to perform at such august venues as the Kennedy Center and the Apollo Theater. During this time, his high school cappella group, The Ramtations, actually placed second to his future band – Pentatonix.
Upon graduation, Sallee accepted a place at the renowned Berklee College of Music in Boston, MA.
He joined the cappella group “Pitch Slapped” during his time at the college, and also wowed the President and Presidential Advisory Committee with several solo performances.
Pitch Slapped also made it through to the judges’ cuts on “America’s Got Talent.”
As a member of Pitch Slapped, Sallee soon established himself as a charismatic and powerful presence, and he became the group’s frontman in his senior year.
During his time in the band, he shared the stage with such established names as Jessie J and Jill Scott.
Sallee was working as a singer in an all-male wedding band – the House Jacks – when he got a call to audition for Pentatonix.
He submitted an audio audition and the group, impressed with his sonorous bass, asked him to fly to LA for an in-person audition.
Sallee sang alongside eight other potential bass singers for the group, making the cut to the final four.
These four were asked to perform with the group itself; Sallee immediately distinguished himself from the other candidates, and was asked to join the band.
Sallee officially joined the band in December 2018, participating in their holiday tour and appearing on the NBC holiday special “A Very Pentatonix Christmas.”
Sallee believes his ascension to the group was “God-ordained.”
In addition to Matt, Pentatonix members are:
- Kevin Olusola;
- Scott Hoying;
- Kirstin Maldonado;
- Mitch Grassi.
Matt Sallee tied the knot in January of 2022, marrying longtime partner Sarah Bishop in a lavish ceremony in Malibu, CA.
Sallee had met his fiancée, who is two years his senior, at the California-based church ‘Expression58’.
The ceremony, attended by close family and friends, was characterized by vows that the couple had written themselves.
Sallee was reportedly emotional, with more than a few tears being shed prior to the ceremony itself.
Sallee and his fiancée sold the wedding photo rights to People Magazine, which documented the event with a number of glossy photographs.
The couple honeymooned in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico.
