He joined the cappella group “Pitch Slapped” during his time at the college, and also wowed the President and Presidential Advisory Committee with several solo performances.

Pitch Slapped also made it through to the judges’ cuts on “America’s Got Talent.”

As a member of Pitch Slapped, Sallee soon established himself as a charismatic and powerful presence, and he became the group’s frontman in his senior year.

Sallee was working as a singer in an all-male wedding band – the House Jacks – when he got a call to audition for Pentatonix.

He submitted an audio audition and the group, impressed with his sonorous bass, asked him to fly to LA for an in-person audition.

Sallee sang alongside eight other potential bass singers for the group, making the cut to the final four.

These four were asked to perform with the group itself; Sallee immediately distinguished himself from the other candidates, and was asked to join the band.

Sallee officially joined the band in December 2018, participating in their holiday tour and appearing on the NBC holiday special “A Very Pentatonix Christmas.”
