Biography
Michael Corleone Blanco is the son of Griselda Blanco, who was a Colombian drug trafficker.
He is the youngest of four children to have been born by Griselda.
Michael’s father is Darío Sepúlveda, who was Griselda’s third husband.
As documented in a 2015 Miami New Times profile on Michael, Dario tried to kidnap Michael after a dispute over who should have custody of him and how he should be raised.
This led to Griselda paying to have her ex-husband assassinated (it has been stated that Dario was killed by corrupt police officers).
Over the course of his life, Michael has switched between trying to stay anonymous and going public to speak about his mother and his family history.
It is reported that Michael watched his father being murdered and watched his mother being arrested following a sting operation in California in 1984.
His mother was assassinated in Medellin in 2012, following years spent in a Florida prison.
He was raised by various members of his extended family.
It has been confirmed that all three of his older half-siblings – named Dixon, Uber, and Osvaldo – are all dead.
Michael has previously stated that he survived two assassination attempts.
Netflix TV Show
In January 2024, Netflix released a 6-part miniseries about the life of Griselda Blanco, named Griselda.
The actress Sofia Vergara played the lead role, while Alberto Guerra played Darío Sepúlveda.

A young Michael Corleone Blanco is portrayed in two episodes by the child actor, Benson D. Larracuente.
The series was a commercial success, debuting at No. 1 on the Netflix charts in 90 countries. It led to renewed interest in Michael and his current whereabouts.
Although Michael Corleone isn’t depicted in a major way in the miniseries, he took issue with what he called the “unauthorized usage of the family’s image, likeness, and/or identity without consent or compensation.”
He filed a lawsuit against Netflix, Vergara, and other parties, in February 2024. However, the lawsuit was permanently dismissed.

Michael is named after Michael Corleone, the central character in Mario Puzo’s Mafia novel, The Godfather. (Corleone is played in the Francis Ford Coppola movie by Al Pacino).
It is reported that Michael was given this name because Griselda was obsessed with The Godfather film, as well as its sequel (she herself was nicknamed ‘The Godmother’).
Griselda had hoped that her youngest son would follow a similar path to her, as the film’s main character did when it came to his gangster parent, Vito Corleone.

At the present time, Blanco is an entrepreneur. He ran the hip-hop label Xtorixion Records.
He also founded the streetwear and lifestyle company, Pure Blanco, with his friend Michael ‘Majix’ Yuen.
Despite his uneasy relationship with his family history and the media attention surrounding it, Michael has also said that he is “proud” of his mother, even quoting her and including her name in the branding of his company.
