Mitchell Diggs Net Worth – $10 million

What is Mitchell “Divine” Diggs’ net worth?

Introduction

Mitchell ‘Divine’ Diggs is an American rapper and music producer.

He is best known as the elder brother of Wu-Tang Clan rapper RZA.

The Origin Story

Diggs was born in Brownsville, Brooklyn, NYC, at some point during the 1960s.

His exact birthdate is unknown.

Diggs has two siblings: Robert Fitzgerald (better known as RZA) and Sophia.

Diggs also has two famous cousins: GZA and Ol’ Dirty Bastard, both of whom were prominent members of the Wu-Tang Clan.

Beyond this, little is known of Diggs’ early life.

Though Diggs wasn’t ever a direct member of the Wu-Tang Clan, he was a silent partner behind the scenes, providing funds for the nascent Staten Island rap group in their early days.

Diggs purportedly arranged deals and partnerships for the group, and at one stage, referred to himself as a ‘tyrant’ with regard to the group.

Diggs’ exact relationship with the group remained a mystery for a long time, but a documentary entitled Of Mics And Men shed some light on his role within the group.

Mitchell allegedly had no formal affiliation with the group, instead providing funds brought in from ‘the streets.’

Later, he became part of the group’s management team.

According to the documentary, Diggs excelled in his role as manager for the group.

He allowed them to use his home to practice and record music, and he invested in an Apple Mackintosh computer that he used to keep the group’s books and organize their gigs and recording sessions.

Diggs expanded his management role within the group, and was soon reading over and approving contracts.

Despite his self-professed competence in managing the group, relations soon grew strained between Diggs and the forward-facing members of the group.

His reputation as a ‘tyrant’ came to the fore, and he frequently refused to release members from their contracts with Wu-Tang Productions.

Mitchell himself admitted his reluctance on this front, stating that he saw no reason to release members from their contracts before the expiration of the said contract.

However, Diggs stated that his brother, RZA, eventually persuaded him to change his mind, arguing that such recalcitrance would ultimately cause nothing but resentment on the part of his fellow group mates.

Though this reversal helped to mend bridges between RZA and his groupmates, Diggs claimed that it ultimately cost him a lot financially.

Diggs estimated that he lost approximately $10 million a year as a result of acquiescing to his brother’s wishes, and this financial loss caused him to sever ties with the group altogether.

At the time of writing, Diggs is no longer on speaking terms with Wu-Tang Clan and appears separately from them in any documentaries regarding the band.

However, his social media activity would indicate that he and his brother are still in contact with one another.

Wife/Girlfriend

Little is known of Diggs’ personal life, and it is unknown whether he is married or single. According to online reports, Mitchell “Divine” Diggs is unmarried.

It is also unknown if he has any children or not.
