Robert Aramayo was born on November 6, 1992, in Kingston upon Hull, a Medieval wool port that was founded in 12th century England.

The son of a Spanish father—Michael Aramayo—and British mother—Lisa Dawson—Robert grew up on Pickering Road in Hull.

Aramayo grew up with two sisters, Laura and Charleigh, and eventually attended Wkye College in Hull.

By then, he had already well and truly been bitten by the acting bug.

Robert starred in his first stage production at age seven, when he played a gangster and Las Vegas founder Bugsy Malone in his Cavendish Primary school show.

By ten years old, he was a member of the Hull Truck Youth Theatre—and performing in a handful of plays each year.

Aramayo paired his desire to be an actor with a whole lot of hard work right through high school, and it paid off.

Robert has been linked to several young Brit stars, but he’s flying solo in 2022.

The Road to Fame

In 2011, just before Aramayo graduated from Wyke College, he received some big news: he had been accepted to the prestigious Juilliard School in New York.

The school, which has produced famous actors like Adam Driver, Viola Davis, and Anthony Mackie, is harder to get accepted to than Harvard, and accepts only 18 new enrolments each year.

Broadly considered the best acting school on the planet, Aramayo packed his bags and left Hull for the Big Apple.

With a whopping £22,000 (approximately USD$26,000) annual school fee, Robert couldn’t have done it alone.

“Mum and Dad have been so supportive of me,” Aramayo shared proudly in a 2011 interview. “I doubt I would have been able to audition so a lot of credit [goes] to them.”

Aramayo was “in love with” Juilliard School—and with New York City on the whole. He loved the hustle and bustle, the artists’ community, and the “great mix” of musicians, actors, and songwriters.

While still safely ensconced at Juilliard, Aramayo starred in the lead role of Alex in his school’s production of A Clockwork Orange.

This role secured him his first feature film role out of school—in Lost in Florence.

In late 2015 he scored a role in what would become one of the most successful series of all time—Game of Thrones.

The HBO behemoth welcomed Aramayo in the role of a young Eddard Stark in season 6.

The role was shrouded in secrecy—and for good reason.

In a collection of incredible flashbacks, Aramayo’s portrayal of the young Ned Stark was used to expose the true family lineage of show star, Jon Snow.

The reveal was one of the biggest in television history, and Aramayo even had to hide that he was in the show.

“Even that I was in it was a big secret. What it revealed, I could never ever talk about.”
