Biography
He was born on December 24, 1974, in Atlanta, Georgia, as Ryan John Seacrest to Constance Marie (née Zullinger) and Gary Lee Seacrest.
His father practiced law for over three decades.
During his teens, Ryan started his career with iHeartMedia in Atlanta at 94.1 WSTR (FM).
After high school, he briefly studied journalism at the University of Georgia.
Seacrest left the university at age 19 and moved to LA to pursue his broadcasting career. He soon landed a DJ role at KYSR-FM (Star 98.7).
In 1993, he hosted his first TV show, Radical Outdoor Challenge.
In 2000, Seacrest was the host of the NBC Saturday Night Movie.

American Idol
In 2002, he became co-host of American Idol with Brian Dunkleman.
“I auditioned for Family Feud but then this other thing [Idol] came along,” he told People in 2016. “It was my first big break that almost didn’t happen.”
In 2003, Seacrest became the sole host after Dunkleman departed. In the same year, he started the syndicated program, On Air with Ryan Seacrest.
In 2006, he formed Ryan Seacrest Productions.
In 2012, he was an NBC correspondent for the London Olympic Games.
