Shuli Egar Net Worth – $1 million
Introduction
Shuli Egar is an American producer, writer, and comedian who is best known as the only original member of the Howard 100 News team that remains on staff.
Update – he left the ‘Howard Stern’ show in 2021.
The Origin Story
Egar was born in Israel, though the exact date of his birth is unknown.
Shortly after his birth, his parents decided to relocate to the USA.
With their life savings of $30,000, they relocated to the West Coast of the USA, where they settled in Los Angeles.
Egar is reportedly named after an uncle of his who was killed in the 1967 war between Israel and the Arab states.
In middle school, Egar discovered the Howard Stern show and instantly fell in love.
He later commented that he was drawn to the “comedy and the reality” of it, with Stern often bickering with his production staff and complaining about everyday mundane aspects of his life.
Early Career
As a young man, Egar moved to Las Vegas, Nevada, to pursue a career in standup comedy.
While there, Egar quarreled frequently with his then-girlfriend about the late nights he spent listening to Stern.
She sarcastically suggested that Egar call in to the show; Egar took this advice, and made a phone call that would inform a great deal of his later career.
Egar called in and spoke to Stern, asking for the opportunity to bet with him at the blackjack table when he and his team went to Las Vegas (where they were due the following month). Stern agreed, and the two met a month later.
Egar beat Stern at blackjack, and the two became fast friends.
As a result of his fateful phone call, Egar went on to become one of the pillars of The Howard 100 News, where he was both a producer and an on-air correspondent.
In 2015, he performed in the animated sitcom Brickleberry as an old Amish man.
In 2017, Shuli appeared in four episodes of the late-night/early-morning satirical talk show Red Eye w/Tom Shillue.
In 2019, Egar served as a panelist in 12 episodes of the show ”Comics Watching Comics.”
Egar continued in his position at The Howard 100 News until 2020 – at which point the cataclysmic events of that year upheaved his life completely.
Post-2020 Career
During 2020, Egar continued to juggle a full-time job along with part-time standup work on the weekend.
At this time, Egar recalled that his iPhone displayed a ‘Memories’ photo album that showed his life from five years previous.
Egar noticed that his family was always at the bottom of the pile in these ‘Memories’ albums, and he concluded that he had put his career ahead of them for far too long.
Egar left New York City and relocated to Huntsville, Alabama, with his family.
In reconnecting with the family he felt he’d neglected, Egar discovered that there was a wealth of comic material to mine from his interactions with them, and it inspired him to start a podcast.
Egar now concentrates on that podcast – The Shuli Show – along with his standup work, making sure that he always makes time for his family along the way.
“I left the show because I felt it was time for me to stand on my own,” Shuli explained in a later interview.
