Bird began her career as a child reality TV star at 20 when her family signed a deal with Discovery TV for Alaskan Bush People‘s reality show.

Her parents were seeking a new way of life shortly after they married, and as such, they made a radical change to their living situation.

The couple is originally from Texas, US, and relocated to Alaska- the northernmost and westernmost state in the United States.

While most people resettle for work or more affordable living, the Browns relocated to an area where they had a better opportunity to live a remote life, away from modern society.

Their goal was to live primarily off the land and teach their children to do the same.

Bird often speaks of her unique childhood before the show. She grew up in a larger than the typical family, and a big part of her adolescent days comprised the family being unstable.

Her parents struggled to find permanent housing, resulting in them moving around a lot.

Despite this, Bird has expressed admiration for what she learned during this chapter of her life.

Over time, her father secured some land and housing to settle in.

In 2007, when Bird was only three years old, her father published his first book — One Wave at a Time.

In 2009, he published his second book, Teacher of the Old Code, a fiction fantasy. Although he didn’t hold conventional jobs, he was a creative type and used his writing & imaginative skills to support his family. His creativity and passion for the outdoors are traits that Bird adopted, which can be seen throughout the TV series.

Bird was excited when her family was offered to film their reality TV show in 2014.

Life was becoming more financially comfortable for the clan before the offer, yet, their financial situation was not up to standard.

Despite the shared excitement, Mr. Brown was initially skeptical about the offer, considering he relocated to Alaska to seclude his family from society’s ills and preferred a private life.

Starring in a TV show would only contradict his belief and decisions. However, he and his wife considered the opportunity and couldn’t deny the financial opportunities it would create for their large family.

The show’s premise was to observe the family as they learn to live off the land and combines education with entertainment.

The show marked a new beginning for Bird since the family was paid with individual salaries per episode, making this her first job. They were offered opportunities to travel and meet people they wouldn’t have otherwise as an added benefit.

May 6, 2014, was the date when the series premiered.

Bird had just turned 20.

She loved being a part of the show, and fortunately for her, it would go on to be renewed for over 14 seasons due to its success.

The show received over 5 million viewers per episode in its early days.

Snowbird is one of the more outgoing of her siblings, so she endured the fame with grace.

She is often seen alongside her younger sister, Rain Brown, helping around the farm and playing with animals when she is not in school. She also loves to climb trees to observe the wildlife and natural scenery.

Bird is an avid outdoors person spending most of her days fishing on the lake, hunting in the wilderness, helping out around the farm, and entertaining the animals.

She is known to be one of the biggest animal lovers of her family so prefers to spend her time with animals-particularly cats. In fact, she is known for bringing her farm cat with her when she is out in the bush.

While life was auspicious for Bird, things eventually took a turn for the worse.

On February 7, 2021, her father passed away due to a fatal seizure. Although the passing was understandably very difficult, it caused a lot of added hardship to her and her family.

At the time of his passing, her parents were in the process of cleaning up a mess from a forest fire that ravaged their new farm in Tonasket, WA. In addition, since he was the head of the household and was the pillar who invited their fame and fortune, his passing was a devastating ordeal to accept.
