I started school there and then got into a little bit of trouble so I had to go back into East Texas, and that’s what kind of settled me in; the coach told me, set me down, and told me that I really had an opportunity to become a star.”
While attending John Tyler High School, Ross played as a running back, wide receiver, and quarterback, under coach Allen Wilson — who won two Texas state championships.

Aaron also played at Fox Tech High School.
During college, Ross played for the Texas Longhorns football team.
“The Longhorns, it’s like a lifelong dream to play to become a Longhorn, so once you UT coach came to talk to me, I was sold,” Ross said in an interview with The New York Giants in September 2017.
“They offered me a scholarship. I didn’t take another visit anywhere else. Coming to a place that you’ve always dreamt about coming to and having a chance to be a part of a great team, it was like a brotherhood. We were trained together, we eat together, we party together, we would do everything together.”
In 2005, Aaron won the National Championship.
In 2006, Ross was the recipient of the Jim Thorpe Award.

In July 2007, he was drafted by the New York Giants with a five-year, $13 million contract.
Ross was one of seven University of Texas players to be selected in the 2007 NFL Draft.
“From day one, I wanted to be out there with the vets, with the rookies and the coaches, everybody,” he revealed at the time.
In his rookie season, he recorded 42 tackles.
In March 2012, he was signed by The Jacksonville Jaguars on a three-year, $15 million contract.
“I loved the opportunity that they gave me, they gave me a second chance to live my dream,” Ross said.
Ross was released on March 8, 2013. He started nine of 14 games with the Jaguars.

In July 2014, he suffered an Achilles tendon tear during the team’s conditioning test.
On August 16, 2015, Aarong signed with the Cleveland Browns. He was released in the same month.
