Alex Tarrant – Net Worth

Alex Tarrant is an actor from New Zealand who has appeared in various TV and film shows in his career.

His most prominent role is in the action crime drama NCIS: Hawaii, where he plays Kai Holman in the hit CBS series.

Something that is particularly impressive about Tarrant’s success as an actor is that he’s dyslexic, something that affects millions of people around the world.

Dyslexia impairs a person’s ability to read, which is a hurdle that Tarrant has had to overcome to learn his lines and read the various scripts for the shows that he has been involved with.

Diagnosed with dyslexia from a young age, he was determined not to let it stand in the way of his success as an actor, and his success on the screen to date shows that he has dealt with it extremely well and enjoyed considerable success as a result.

He started acting in 2015 when he landed a role in season four of Sea Change before playing the character Maui in the BBC series Tatau.

His big break in acting came when he landed a recurring role on 800 Words, starring as Ike for 39 episodes between 2015 and 2018.

Produced by South Pacific Pictures for Seven Network, 800 words is a comedy-drama that showcases the cast of a top-selling Sydney newspaper and is a hit show in Australia and New Zealand.

During his time on 800 Words, Tarrant landed one of the main roles in Filthy Rich, an NZ comedy-drama series that ran for two seasons.

Thanks to many of these high-profile roles that came his way, Tarrant quickly established himself as one of the most popular TV actors in New Zealand.

In 2019, he appeared as Zac in the show SeaChange.

Reflecting on the role, Tarrant said:

“Zac is the loveable goofball of Pearl Bay. He is a sensitive soul, and he’s quite tentative towards things. He also has a massive fear of the sea. Ultimately, I think, he would love to be the hero and save the day.”

It’s a role that he loved playing, and he fondly recalled:

“I would say there’s a lot of similarities between me and Zac. Like, I’m a pretty goofy dude. I think playing Zac really gives me the opportunity to explore it and allow me to take the facade of Alex off and just be who I really am.”

Following SeaChange, Tarrant appeared in Mean Mums, Loner, Vegas, and NCIS: Hawaii.

He also played Leo in the 2012 Canadian-New Zealand movie Night Raiders, which is an apocalyptic sci-fi film that is notably different from the roles that Tarrant has held in the past.

He is also part of the cast of the new The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power that is set to air in 2022.

Although it’s not clear precisely how much money Tarrant has made from his various roles in TV in NZ, the average annual salary is thought to be around $39,000 for actors on TV.

It’s not clear if Tarrant has any brand deals or endorsements, as he keeps a low profile and isn’t particularly active on social media.

As a result of his success as a TV actor in New Zealand, Alex Tarrant has an estimated net worth of $1 million.
