As a prominent DJ, rapper, and music producer, D-Nice has accumulated most of his wealth through music production and various other associated projects. So, thanks to his initial successes as a musician in the 1990s and his subsequent investments and entrepreneurial endeavors, DJ D-Nice has an estimated net worth of $2 million.

He released his first album in July 1990, entitled Call Me D-Nice, which placed at number 75 in the US chart and number 12 in the R&B/Hip Hop chart.

D-Nice followed his first album up a year later with the release of To Tha Rescue, which wasn’t as successful – enjoying its peak at number 137 on the national US chart and 27 on the R&B/Hip Hop chart in comparison.

His albums were released in collaboration with Jive Records after he had signed a solo deal with the record label.

But not long after he was making a name for himself in the music industry, D-Nice fell out with Jive Records after they disagreed about his branding and how his music should be represented.

While his record deal and royalties had been his primary sources of income up until this point, he decided to switch direction and diversify his earnings.

After the birth of his first daughter in 1996, Derrick returned to work and founded a creative services company at the turn of the century.

Although he continued to earn from his music, Jones was able to land work as a music photographer, and he began collaborating with various other musicians to produce the artwork for their releases and publications.

For instance, Derrick was responsible for shooting the album covers for Carl Thomas’ 2007 release So Much Better and Kenny Lattimore’s 2017 album Vulnerable, among others.

He runs these projects through his creative services company and also offers web design and development to his clients.

In the early 2000s, Jones also branched out with his musical endeavors, setting up on YouTube in 2006 and focusing on his career as a DJ.

He has more than six million views on his YouTube channel, which has provided him with a share of ad revenue as a result.

On Instagram, Derrick has amassed more than 2.7 million followers, many of whom joined him as a result of live streams.

He launched a clothing range on the back of the success of the live streams.
