Their love affair began in 1977, on television, when Marlo appeared as a guest on the “Donahue” show.
Marlo is stepmother to Phil’s five children (Daniel, Mary Rose, Michael, Kevin, and James) from his first marriage.
In 2020, the couple wrote a book (“What Makes a Marriage Last — 40 Celebrated Couples Share with Us the Secrets to a Happy Life”) about marriages, featuring 40 famous couples who have stood the test of time.
