Peter Olinto Net Worth – $1 million

What is Peter Olinto’s net worth?

Introduction

Peter Olinto is an American accountant, lawyer, instructor, and entrepreneur and is a certified CFA, JD, and CPA.

He is well known for being a long-standing lead instructor with Becker, a CPA exam preparation review company.

The Origin Story

Peter was not always interested in becoming a CPA, or a professional corporate employee.

In fact, once he graduated high school, he was accepted into Florida State University.

He attended, hoping to become part of the varsity football team to pursue a professional football career.

That dream quickly fell through.

He was accepted onto the team, and during the first practice, he was knocked unconscious, deterring him from pursuing it further.

U.S. Air Force ROTC

After contemplating his plans to prepare for a future career, he decided to enroll in the Air Force ROTC since football seemed like a long shot.

He was heavily influenced by his brother, who, at the time, was flying jets in the Air Force, and Peter thought it was an exciting career to pursue.

Following his enrollment, he was taken into a jet for some practice flying; from that point, he quickly realized that he was afraid of flying.

Once again, he was faced with the reality that yet another attempted career was not an option for him.

Like anyone experiencing a life crisis, unsure of their future, Peter sought advice from his immediate family members.

One of his uncles was a partner at a large American accounting firm and offered some life-changing advice to him.

His suggestion was for Peter to pursue a career in Accounting as it is stable and lucrative.

Peter admitted that one of the only reasons he took his uncle’s advice was his lavish lifestyle.

He’s a good guy and everything, but he had two really nice homes, two really nice cars, and he had this big fat boat down on the Jersey shore. And I was like damn if that’s the kinda money a CPA makes, I wanna be a CPA, and that’s a sad but true story.”

Peter decided to re-enroll at University, and he graduated with a bachelor’s degree in public accounting.

Fortunately for him, he landed a job at Deloitte as an Auditor not too long after graduating.

During his time in this role, he was enlisted in the CPA professional designation course.

He did so well that he passed all four sections of the CPA exam on his first attempt.

He doesn’t promote the idea that the exam is easy; in fact, he has mentioned that his success was a direct result of a lot of preparation, dedication, and an excellent study plan.

As a professional CPA, he felt there was still a lot more he needed to accomplish to make his professional life complete.

Thus, Peter decided to apply to law school, planning on obtaining a law degree. He was accepted into Fordham University School of Law in New York  City in 1992 and graduated in 1995 with a Juris Doctor (J.D.).

Shortly after this impressive accomplishment, he was hired by Ernst & Young as a Tax Attorney.

While he enjoyed his time in this role and appreciated its value, he decided shortly after being hired that he was best suited to start his own practice.

His practice centered around tax, real estate, and estate planning.

Peter is currently known for his impeccable teaching skills and is presently one of Becker’s leading instructors.

He wasn’t keen on teaching until he got his first taste for it while in law school.

As a top-performing student, a professor sought him to teach his fellow students.

His first opportunity was as a teacher for the first LSAT, and that progressed to him teaching SAT and GMAT courses and exam preparation.

From these experiences, he quickly learned that he indeed enjoyed teaching.

He began teaching again shortly after he opened his own practice.

He needed a way to supplement his income until his business became more lucrative, so he thought this would be an excellent resource considering he was great at it.

Peter stated:

“I taught at Fordham University graduate and undergraduate School of Business. I taught accounting, and a lot of what I teach for the CFA exam is financial statement analysis. I really enjoyed it. I got the opportunity to teach CPA videos, and that led to CFA videos.”

At the time of writing, Peter has been teaching CPA and CFA online for over 20 years.

In addition to teaching students online, he often travels throughout Europe, North America, and Asia to teach live classes and to lead seminars.

The entire premise of his teachings is to help CPA and CFA candidates and students prepare for their exams.

His teaching strategy is not to enforce the idea that students need to be smart like him; he claims to be no more intelligent than anyone.

He believes that he can teach any student efficient and effective studying strategies to help them pass on the first or second attempt.

While he is very humble about his teaching ability’s incredible success, he is idolized and valued across the globe as one of the world’s best CPA and CFA instructors.
