BenjiLock Net Worth $4 Million

What Is BenjiLock’s Net Worth?

The BenjiLock is a fingerprint door lock and has a net worth of $4 million. Robbie Cabral, the founder of BenjiLock, was having a hard time in his life.

He had hit rock bottom; he was depressed, unemployed, and overweight.

One day he decided that he wanted to change his life for the better, so he started to exercise, joining a nearby gym.

While at the gym, Robbie looked around the locker room to see that many of his fellow gym-goers were having a problem with their lockers.

They would either forget their combinations, leave their keys in their locker, lose their keys, or forget their keys, meaning each day he would see perfectly good locks being cut off with bolt cutters so their owners could retrieve their belongings.

Robbie knew there had to be a better solution, so he began working on a new lock design.

Robbie’s Humble Beginnings

Robbie Cabral, the founder of BenjiLock, was born and raised in the Dominican Republic.

Growing up with his single mother, they often struggled to make ends meet.

It was a difficult start to his life, but it instilled in him a passion for entrepreneurship and the motivation he needed to work hard and keep striving for success.

The Design

The design of the lock is what makes it unique.

Robbie designed a rechargeable lock that is an innovative hybrid product; not only can a fingerprint be used to open it, but it can also be used with a plain key in the event of technical failure.

Even more interesting, BenjiLock can store up to 10 different fingerprints, so your family can open it safely.

The Consumer Electronics Show of America

Once he had his prototype together, he went to show his new invention at the largest, most popular consumer electronics show in America, CES.

His invention was an immediate hit at CES.

Not only was he recognized as an honoree for the Innovation Awards, but he was put in contact with major US retailers, including Ace Hardware and The Grommet. The highlight of the show, however, was being recruited to a casting for the hit ABC show Shark Tank.

“Having the platform to introduce our product for the first time to the world is definitely a thrill,” Robbie said of his experience at CES.

Shark Tank

Appearing on Shark Tank in 2017 was truly a turning point for Robbie, who once said, “..To pitch my passion in front of such powerful entrepreneurs was truly the American Dream.”

On Shark Tank, he received a “bite” from one of the sharks, Kevin O’Leary, who said of the deal, “This is one of the most exciting deals I’ve made in the Tank. Great product, but an even better entrepreneur. Let’s make the magic happen, Robbie!”

Robbie walked away with $200k in funding, and Kevin O’Leary received a 15% equity stake in the company from his Shark Tank appearance.

Robbie attributes so much of his success to his partnership with Kevin O’Leary, saying, “Kevin and his team have helped me navigate the business world in a way I couldn’t envision it. They are extremely hands-on and a true example of a great partnership.”

On the BRINKS

BenjiLock’s success didn’t stop at Shark Tank.

Hampton Products International, the security company that makes BRINKS locks, was inspired by what they saw at CES and wanted to get in business with Robbie and his new technology.

Always Innovating

Robbie continues to innovate and make his products better, smaller, more efficient, and more user-friendly.

In 2018, he returned to CES with a smaller version of his famous lock, winning another Innovation Award.

Robbie’s continued passion for innovation seems to have no end in sight; he says, “you’ll see more innovation from BenjiLock, I’ll make sure of that.”

In 2021, BenjiLock came out with a new creation; the BenjiLock Fingerprint Bike Lock.

This bike lock is one-of-a-kind on the market right now; no one has ever sought to use fingerprint technology on a bike lock before.

In addition to the bike lock, BenjiLock has also developed its patented fingerprint technology into drawer closets, cabinet locks, and even smart home door locks.
