”I had no emotion, honestly, because I didn’t really understand what was happening,” Kyle stated in another interview. ”But, it was crazy.”
Giersdorf is the first Fortnite World Cup champion. The event was run by Epic Games and cost $100 million in all to organize.
Epic Games said over 40 million players participated in the qualifying events across the world. About 2.3 concurrent million viewers on YouTube and Twitch watched the 2019 Fortnite World Cup Championship finales.
Kyle’s social media accounts got hacked after the win. ”Bugha’s phone and social media accounts have been compromised,” Sentinels Management tweeted. ”We are aware of the situation and are working to regain control.”
Two days later, Giersdorf made an appearance on the Jimmy Fallon Show.
Later that year, he received the PC Player Of The Year Esports Awards – the PC Rookie Player of the Year.
In 2020, Kyle appeared on Forbes’ 2020 30 Under 30 list for the world of gaming.
In July 2020, he inked a deal with VaynerGaming, a new division of the full-service athlete representation agency VaynerSports.

In the same month, Giersdorf partnered with Five Below on a line of exclusive gaming products.
”Really excited to announce my partnership with @fivebelow today – we’re on a mission to make gaming more accessible for everyone,” Kyle tweeted.
In July 2021, he received an in-game skin of his likeness from Epic Games.
In February 2023, Giersdorf signed with Dignitas.
