Carrot Top, whose legal name is Scott Thompson, is an American stand-up comedian.
He was born on February 25, 1965, in Cocoa Beach, Florida, USA. ”I come from little Rockledge, Florida,” Scott said in an interview. ”I’m very proud of my hometown.”
His mother, Donna Wood, used to own Love Tennis on Brevard Avenue in Cocoa Village.
His father, Larry Thompson, was a rocket scientist who worked on the Apollo and Gemini missions.
”With my father working at NASA, when you’re a kid, you don’t think about how cool it is – you’re just like, ‘Oh, I don’t want to go to another launch,’” Thompson said.
He went to Clearlake Middle School and St. Mary Catholic School. During high school, he was in the wrestling and swimming teams.
Thompson has a degree in marketing from Florida Atlantic University in Boca Raton. ”I went to college down in Boca Raton, and I would surf in the morning and go to classes in the afternoon,” Thompson told Florida Today in 2015. ”It was great.”
His first performance in a live standup comedy was during college. ”When I started doing comedy 20 years ago, you could say anything, pick on anything, and they’d laugh,” Thompson recalled in 2015. He added: ”Now you have to be careful. They’re hypersensitive to topics you might bring up.”
Scott’s first television appearance was on “Comic Strip Live” in 1991.
From 1994 to 1996, he starred in the morning show ”Carrot Top’s AM Mayhem.”
In 2007, he made a guest appearance in the film ”Larry the Cable Guy’s Christmas Spectacular” alongside comedian Daniel Lawrence Whitney.
In 2014, he appeared as himself in ”Swearnet: The Movie.”
In 2015, Thompson portrayed Blartie in an episode of the TV series ”Glee.”
In 2017, Scott performed in the episode ”Bringing Up the Baby” of the series ”Nightcap.”
In 2020, Scott was inducted into the Las Vegas Magazine Hall of Fame.

It has been rumored that Thompson went under the knife; however, the comedian said he hasn’t had any work done on him.
”People think I’ve had plastic surgery — no, it just takes a lot of makeup to make me look good,” Scott said.
”I never had any plastic surgery,” Thompson said on another occasion. ”I can see why people would think that since I got really big for a while, but I never had any work done.”
