Malik Beasley Net Worth & Salary

What are Malik Beasley’s net worth and salary?

Introduction

Malik Beasley is an American professional basketball player.

Originally drafted by the Denver Nuggets, he has since made his way to Minnesota, where he currently plays for the NBA team, the Utah Jazz.

He is a shooting guard who has continuously improved his game over his time in the league, allowing him to gain attention from both analysts and fans alike.

Throughout his career, he has stood out from other players similar in skill due to his will and strong competitive nature.

Along with this, his athleticism and shooting ability has given him the opportunity to establish himself as a player to watch out for in the league despite some of his setbacks.

The Origin Story

Malik Jon Mikal Beasley, known professionally as just Malik Beasley, was born on November 26, 1996, in Atlanta, Georgia.

Before getting his start in the NBA, Beasley first began to make a name for himself on his high school basketball team.

He played for the Saint Francis School, a college preparatory school located in the Atlanta area, which he attended alongside other notable athletes such as Kaiser Gates, Kobi Simmons, and BSC football player Jacob Davis.

During this time, he played as a shooting guard, where he averaged 22.2 points, 2.9 assists, 6.9 rebounds, and 1.9 steals by his senior year.

His aggressive defensive gameplay and impressive shooting skills made him a popular potential prospect (specifically a 4-star prospect) for several well-known college teams.

Beasley received offers from Georgia, Oregon, UCLA, Wake Forest, Connecticut, and Saint John’s. However, he decided to commit to the Florida State Seminoles, where he would play throughout his college career.

Although only spending one year in college before declaring for the NBA draft, Beasley made significant waves as a Freshman at Florida State.

He led his team during the 2015-2016 school year to produce one of the school’s most successful years yet.

This included earning honors such as being recognized as a Freshman All-American player, All-ACC Freshman Team, and ACC Honorable Mention honors.

Along with this, he was able to receive multiple accolades, including being on the list of top 20 highest scoring freshman collegiate players during his year, being named to the Wayman Tisdale Mid-Season Watch List as the National Freshman of the Year, and being Florida State’s leader in minutes played that year with 1,104 and a team-leading 29.8 minutes played per game average.

Coming off of a stellar freshman season in college that seemed to surprise many — he was a popular choice during the college recruitment stage but wasn’t as focused on as some other prospects — Beasley was able to secure a spot in the league as 19th overall pick by the Denver Nuggets.

Unfortunately, during his initial time with the Nuggets, Beasley struggled to get on his feet.

This can most likely be attributed to obstacles he had faced during the draft process before he even signed his rookie contract with the team; he had to get surgery to repair a stress fracture in his leg, which prevented him from being involved in pre-draft practices.

This led to him playing for a limited amount of minutes throughout the span of his freshman NBA season. However, Beasley’s performance and activity in the league began to see an upturn following a breakout game against the Golden State Warriors.

His success in this game propelled him to continue to improve his skills in the NBA development league and increase his per-game averages.

Joining the Timberwolves

On February 5, 2020, after three and a half years with the Nuggets, Beasley was traded to begin playing with the Minnesota Timberwolves.

While only starting in just 19 games throughout the whole of his time in Denver, he was on track to start in every game for his newly assigned team.

This increased his average playing time to 32 minutes per game, pushing his point averages to skyrocket.

During most of his first year on the team, NBA regulations reduced the total number of games the team could play, however, he was able to spend this time training and working on himself as a player.

He has worked well alongside Coach Ryan Sauders, who has focused on formulating specific plays for Beasley that target his strengths.

This partnership has given him more chances to play off the ball and make real-time decisions while in the game, something that he wasn’t necessarily able to do while playing for his past team.

In 2022, Malik signed with Utah Jazz.

Beyond Basketball

Even with basketball taking up so much of his time, Beasley has still found ways to pursue business ventures outside of the league.

He oversees several individual companies, all of which are subsidiaries of his main business, Beasley Enterprises.

Under that brand, he has started a new sector named Beastly Sports, which is a training and lifting program targeted for younger athletes.
