Covone moved in with Durk pretty quickly, and the pair welcomed their first baby on November 28, 2011.
Their son Angelo’s birth—and their low-key summer wedding that year—weren’t the only big changes that year.
Nicole’s boyfriend had left high school by this point, and joined local Chicago street gang, the Black Disciples.
In October of 2011, he was arrested on gun charges—specifically for possession of a firearm with a defaced serial number.
He went to prison, leaving Nicole as a solo mom.
After his release from prison, Derrick and his wife got to work on making baby number 2.
On July 18, 2013, Covone gave birth to the couple’s second child—a daughter named Bella Banks.

In the lead up to Bella’s birth—as in: she was ready to pop—Durk landed himself in jail for possession of a loaded .40 caliber firearm.
When he was pulled over by police, the wannabe gang banger tried to get rid of the gun by throwing it into a nearby car.
Covone said to the media at the time that she was meant to give birth that day but didn’t want to go into labor with her husband behind bars.
Just months after her daughter’s birth—which Durk was incarcerated for—Lil Durk welcomed another child to the world.
His new son’s name was Zayden Banks, and no—he was not Nicole’s miracle child.
While Zayden’s mom didn’t go public on social media, Lil Durk didn’t deny that he had stepped outside his marriage and made a baby with someone else.
Nicole filed for divorce, and both she and Banks moved on.
Nicole’s kids, Angelo and Bella, are now the eldest half-siblings of six—Zayden and D’Umier to an unknown baby mama of Banks, Skyler Banks, the daughter of Tameka Kute, and Willow Banks, the daughter of Banks and his new wife, India Royale.
To cap off a truly heart-breaking year, Nicole lost her mom—Diana Covone—in October of 2013.
