What is Anna Cramling’s net worth?
Anna Cramling (full name: Anna Yolanda Cramling Bellón) is a Spanish-Swedish Twitch streamer who has a net worth of $1 million. She’s also a Woman FIDE Master and YouTuber.
She is best known for her social media presence, as well as for holding the FIDE title of Woman FIDE Master.
Cramling was born on April 30th, 2002, in Málaga, Spain.
She comes from a chess-playing background; Anna Cramling’s father, Juan Manuel Bellón López, is a Spanish chess grandmaster, and her mother, Pia Cramling, is a Swedish grandmaster. Pia became the 5th woman to earn the FIDE GM title in 1992.
Anna began playing chess at a very young age.
She started at the age of three while still living in Spain, and, upon moving to Sweden at the age of eleven, she continued to play.
Upon her move, she switched from the Spanish chess federation to its Swedish equivalent.
As a child, Cramling would often accompany her parents to chess tournaments, as there was nobody to babysit her except her maternal grandmother (who lived in Sweden). “I constantly saw my parents analyzing their chess games,” she said.
As such, Cramling developed a strong passion for the game. This later drove her determination to become an expert player like her mother and father.
“I don’t really know anything else than having chess parents, but I’ve been I’m really thankful for that because they really helped me, but my parents they really helped me with my chance, and I mean, not everyone can have a coach at home so I’m really thankful about that,” Cramling said in an interview about her parents in July 2022.
Chess Career
In February 2013, at the age of 10, Cramling earned her first FIDE rating, winning one of her four games at the Gibraltar Chess Festival.
She won the women’s prize in the 2014 Gibraltar Chess Festival – an event that garnered no small amount of media attention due to her parentage and the fact that she had attended the tournament since she was a child.
In 2015, Cramling established herself as a serious contender on the Swedish chess scene when her rating shot up after a series of strong showings.
She finished out the year with 6/11 wins at the World Cadets Chess Championship in Greece, cementing her status as one of the best up-and-coming players in Sweden.
In 2016 Cramling continued to raise her profile with excellent performances in several tournaments, including a victory over fellow Swede Michael Backman, who had a higher FIDE rating than her.
She represented Sweden in the 2016 Chess Olympiad in Baku, Azerbaijan, where she competed in a team alongside her parents and played 7/11 rounds. Sweden placed 23rd overall out of the 134 competing teams.
Anna went from strength to strength over the next few years.
In 2017, she had the opportunity to face off against her own father in Gibraltar – a game which resulted in a draw.
She also played in the World Junior Chess Championships and the European Youth Chess Championships. She finished in the middle of the pack in both instances but increased her overall seeding.
After a poor showing in 2018, Cramling regained her form in 2019, where she performed extremely well in the European Youth Chess Championships. She finished 19th overall in the competition, defeating an Azerbaijani player who had a FIDE rating of over 2300.
In 2020, Cramling largely stopped competing professionally over the board, and instead turned her attention to streaming.
