Lee Williams Net Worth – $1.5 million

What was Lee Williams’ net worth at the time of his death? Who is Lee Williams’ wife?

Introduction

Lee Williams was an American quartet gospel musician and the lead singer for the group The Spiritual QC since 1968.

The band was based out of Tupelo, Mississippi.

The Origin Story

He was born on July 28, 1946, in the United States.

The only public information about him is regarding his career as a musician and lead singer in a popular band.

He was a young man when he met Lenoard, Willie, Al, Patrick, and Tommie, all the other members of his band.

They were all members of their local Church, which is presumed to be where they met.

They all had an interest in music, specifically performative arts, which led them all to become singing members of their band.

They went from being a well-established and relatively successful gospel singing group to ultimately becoming a recording artist of the year.

This high level of achievement was likely due to their long-term singing and performing experiences.

The Spiritual QC was officially formed in 1968, and it wouldn’t take long for them to rise to the top.

According to early information, the group’s first musical recordings as a band were a series of 45 rpm records from the Designer label based out of Memphis, Tennessee.

The singles were almost all one-sided, with the lead vocals jumping between Williams and Willie, who was also the bass guitarist.

Willie wasn’t a part of the group for too long, and when he decided to part ways and pursued his own career, Williams was promoted to lead vocalist.

This was when The Spiritual QC changed their name officially to Lee Williams and The Spiritual QC’s.

The band continued to record, produce, and release music, tour the United States, and sold more albums than they imagined they could. This was in part due to the band member’s amazing chemistry but mostly due to William’s talented voice.

Williams and his band had their first national recording in 1900, which took place at MCG Records, a Georgia-based gospel record label.

Despite being a band for many years, it wasn’t until 1996 that they released their first album through a record label.

“Jesus Is Alive And Well” was released and had Christian fans lined up to buy their album. The album included the hit song “I’ve Learned to Lean.”

Just two years later, in 1998, they released their second studio album, “Love Will Go All the Way.” The album included a few songs from their first album and, once again, was a hit with their fans.

They were on a streak, and nothing was stopping them at this point.

In 2000, they surprised their fans with yet another album, their third studio album titled “Good Time.”

The album was their most successful yet and would go on to reach the Top Ten of Billboard‘s gospel albums chart in November 2000.

In 2001, the gospel group was nominated for the Traditional Quartet of the Year at the Gospel Music Excellence Awards, and they took the trophy home.

They were also nominated for the Best Gospel Album and the Soul Train Music Awards, that same year.

The gospel group wasted no time getting another album started.

Williams and his band recorded their fourth studio album in 2002, titled “Right on Time.” The album was released in 2003.

Their fifth album, “Tell the Angels,” was released in 2005.

This was followed by them releasing a compilation of hit songs on their sixth album in 2006, “Soulful Healings.”

One year went by, and the group released another album, “So Much To Be Thankful For.”

After this release, they decided the next few albums would be compilations.

This included “My Brother’s Keeper” and “The Collection,” which were both released in 2009.

That same year Williams and his band released their seventh album, “Fall on Me.” This album was unique from the previous five because it included an old band member by the name of Roger McKinney to sing the background vocals on one of the songs.

The following year, Williams released yet another compilation album titled “Through the Years.” This was followed by their eighth studio album called “Living On The Lord’s Side.” Willaims invited Willie, the previous lead singer, to join them on the song “Call Him.”

Their years of success would eventually come to an end, as it does all bands.

In 2015, they produced and recorded their last album, “Memphis Gospel, Live!”

For the next few years, they spent their time touring the southern states, giving live performances.

Death

It wasn’t long after this that Wiliams received the devastating diagnosis of dementia.

This debilitating disease forced him to retire from the band.

Unfortunately for Willaims and his friends and family, he passed away peacefully on August 30, 2021, at the age of 75.

His son explained that he died from complications of dementia and diabetes, another disease he was battling.

The band continues to tour and make music, and Williams’ son has the opportunity to allow his dad’s memory to live on by singing his music across the nation.
